materiallywhenall motor-
ists and pedes tr ians do
their part. The success of
this day depends on the in-
dividual. It is to.implant
in the minds of motorists
and pedestrians that if they
can greatly reduce acci-
dents on S- D Day, they can
do so every day in the year.
Individuals will be urged
on S-D Day to accept full
responsibility for complete
adherence to these basic
safety principles:
1. Observe the letter and
the spirit of all traffic regu-
lations.
2. Be courteous to every
driver andpedestrian; prac-
tice sportsmanship.
3. Give full attention to
driving and walking.
At the close of S-D Day
the miles traveled and the
accidents (if any) will be
counted. One of the 48
states will have made the
best record. Texans hope
that they can claim this
title. And Beaumont hopes
with the cooperation of its
s t u d e n ts and citizens to
have an accident free day
also.
