Band Presents
Hour Concert
Director C.A. (Pete)
Wiley’s 75 capable, well-
trained Cardinal Bandsmen
presented an e x c e 11 e nt,
hour-long concert in the
auditorium Wednesday
morning.
The audience was com-
paratively small, but high-
ly receptive to the fine pro-
gram offered by the band
in • its first concert of the
season.
The musicians followed
Director Wiley's baton with
finesse and accuracy in
probably the best concert
by a Lamar band.
Drawing special acclaim
from the listeners was
Tschaikowsky's Finale
from Symphony in F Min-
or, No. 4, a difficult num-
ber p r e s e n ted in profes-
sional fashion.
Other numbers on the pro-
gram were National Capital
March, Zambarano; From
Heaven Above, Bach; Hail
Miami!, Richards; Ouvre
Ton Coeur, Bizet; March of
Siamese Children, Bennett;
Martinque, Morrissey, and
Stars and Stripes Forever,
Sousa.

WHAT DO UNITARIANS
THINK ABOUT
DEMOCRACY?
The Unitarian Church is
the expression of the demo-
cratic position and princi-
ple as applied to religion.
It is a free faith for free
men. Most other churches
are either totalitarian or
authoritarian. They know
what is good and right for
their members. They osss-
ess the revealed truth, apd
they require acceptance of
that knowledge. The Uni-
tarian Church says that free
men can discover truth for
themselves if open inquiry
is allowed them.. .and every
Unitarian is free to reap the
fullest rewards of self-
discovery.
