post on the first of this month.
The troops were removed to Han
Antonio, Fort Hiincan and Fort
David. The commanding officer,
Colonel <r. A. 1'urrington, was as-
signed to the eoinumud of I'ort
Hill, f. T. The departure of the
troops has left the buildings at
the post deserted, but in (he town
business seems as good as ever.
It does not seem that the pros-
perity of the town will receive
much of a shock. The farmers
and stockmen living adjacent are
prosperous and wfll support a
good town.

hirn. but if he is once roused up,
