On Jan. 1, at 1:51 a.m. police re-
ceived a call in which the caller re-
ported a person broke into the house
and is carrying a firearm. Officers
arrive and arrested a 21 -year-old male
for deadly conduct. Officers also
seized a 12 gauge shotgun.
On. Jan 1, at 3:36 a.m., police re-
ceived a call reporting domestic
violence in the 300block of S. Bowie.
Officers arrested a 34-year-old male
for assaulL The victim received mi-
nor injuries requiring no immediate
treatment
Oo Jan. 1, at 6:40 a.m., police re-
ceived a call whereas the caller re-
ported a person outside the house
hitting the door and yelling profani-
ties. Offices arrested a 25-year-old
male for disorderly conduct.
On Jan. 1 at 9:32 p.m., police re-
ceived a call reporting domestic
violence in the 400 block of N. Dal-
las. Officers arrested a 46-year-old
male for assault. Victim received
minor injuries requiring no immedi-
ate treatment
On Jan 2, at 2:22 p.m., police re-
ceived a call reporting a burglary in
the 100 block of S.E. 2nd. Com-
plainant reported someone entered a

sculpture In front of First Baptist Church Tuesday morning. The
cold front which blew through the area this week differed greatly
from the 70-degree weather of the prior week. The metal sculpture
was built by Gary Wilfong's metal trades class and ws placed in
front of the church In January of 1996.

On Jan. 2, at 6:56 p.m., police re-
ceived a call reporting possible sexual
abuse to a 4-year-old child. Officers
contacted the Texas Department of
Protective and Regulatory Services,
who are assisting in the investiga-
tion. The alleged abuse occurred in
Pampa. A doctor examined the child
and found no evidence supporting
sexual abuse.
On Jan. 3, at 8:45 a.m., officers
arrested a 13-year-old female in the
200 block of N. Maxwell on a court
order ordering her apprehended and
detained in a detention center.
On Jan. 3, at 11:56 p.m., officers
arrested a 21-year-old male in the
300 block of W. Broadway for out-
standing DPS warrants.
On Jan. 4, at 12:04 a.m., the police
received a call reporting vandalism
in the 900 block of N. Dallas. Com-
plainant reported an unknown person
damaged an outside light.
On Jan. 4, at 1:44 a.m., police re-
ceived a call reporting domestic vio-
lence in the 500 block of N. Donley.
Officers arrested a 24-year-old male
for assaulL The victim received mi-
nor injuries requiring no immediate
treatment
On Jan. 4 at 10 a.m., police re-
ceived a call reporting vandalism in
the 600 block of S. Dallas. Com-
plainant reported an unknown person
damaged a mailbox.
On Jan. 4, at 11 a.m., police received
a call reporting a burglary in the 300
block of S. Dallas. Complainant re-
ported an unknown person entered a
vehicle and took a firearm.
On Jan. 4, at 5:05 p.m., police re-
ceived a call reporting a theft in the
300 block of N. Maxwell. Com-
plainant reported an unknown person
entered a back yard and took a reg-
istered pit bull.
On Jan.4,at 11 p.m., police received
a call reporting a theft. Complainant
reported various items and money
missing. Complainant believes a 25-
year-old male, who is missing, took
the items and money. Officers found
out he left on a bus enroute to Corpus
Christi with items matching the
complainants. A warrant is pending.
On Jan. 4, at 11:20 p.m., officers
arrested a 45-year-old female in the
200 block of S. Gaines for driving
while intoxicated.

SWISHER COUNTY MUSEUM
needs advertisement articles such
as ashtrays, calendars and writing

Swisher County businesses of long
ago and present ones are sought.
The museum is planning a new
exhibit on the old and new stores
and businesses. We will take things

THE WOMEN’S CENTER of
the Don and Sybil Harrington
Cancer Center and Baptist/St.
Anthony's Health System will
conduct a Breast Cancer Screening
Clinic at Swisher Memorial Hos-
pital, 539 S.E. Second, Tulia, on
Jan. 15,1997.
Participants will receive a low-
cost screening that includes a
mammogram and instruction in
self-examination by a registered
nurse. The total cost is $70. A mini-
mum of fifteen women must regis-
ter for the mobile mammography
clinic to come. All exams are done
by appointment only. Call 800 377-
4673 for more information.
THE TULE CREEK Jubilee will
be Saturday, Jan. 11,1997, at 7 p.m.
at the VFW Hall in Tulia. The house
band will accompany singers and
guest bands will perform as well.
Concessions will be provided by
the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE no
longer enrolled in a Texas public
school and who wish to register to
retake the exit level TAAS or
TEAMS tests may pick up a regis-
tration packet at the Curriculum
Office of Tulia I.S.D., located at 702
N.W. 8th. This test is for individu-
als who have not previously met
minimum expectations on all sec-
tions of the exit level tests, but have
met all other graduation require-
ments.
Registration forms must be re-
turned to Iowa City, Iowa, no later
than 5 p.m., Jan. 24,1997.
GED CLASSES will be 7-9 p.m.
every Tuesday and Thursday at
Tulia High School.

Family Community Education
Council still has copies of the
Centennial Cookbook available for
sale. The cookbooks make won-
derful Christmas, wedding or
shower gifts. The price has been

will conduct a public hearing for
