Room of S wisher Memorial Building. Present
for the all-day event which included a
bountiful dinner were 96 family members
and six friends. Relatives came from Hous-
ton, East Texas and other parts of Texas,
New Mexico and Arizona.
Among those attending the reunion were
he visitors of Mary (Sharp) and Louie Ed-
ards who were their daughter and son-in-
la a\ Joan and Larry Berry and boys, Steven
and Greg, of Sugar Land. They spent the
weekend in Tulia and also took in Picnic
activities.
AS I SORTED OUT ALL those boxes of
recipes I had clipped from the Amarillo and
Lubbock papers for the past 30 years and
tossed most of them in the wastebasket, I ran
across a couple of stories I had sent in from
Tulia as local correspondent. In those days
gone by, the area dailies printed any and
everything I sent in. I found the write-up of
Yvonne White’s bridal shower which was
given in the home of Mrs. Guy Young on
Dec. 7 1963. (Yvonne married Ralph Wayne
Ncvinson Dec. 21,1963.) The story went in
to detail as follows: Guests were registered
by Miss Particia Chandler and gift room
hostesses were Mrs. Jack Driskill and Mrs.
Bill Chandler. Miss Vicki Young and Miss
Sherry Burclsmith presided at the tea table
which was laid with an embroidered linen
cloth and centered with a red and white floral
arrangement.
Receiving guests were the honoree; her
mother, Mrs. R. A. White; and mother of the
prospective bridegroom, Mrs. Ralph Nev-
ins.
Also on the same page was the write-up of
another Tulian s shower as follows: Miss
Carol Ruth Dietrich, bride-elect of Roy
Carroll Love, was honored at a shower Dec.
7 in the home of Mrs. Bert Inman.
Receiving guest with the honoree were
her mother Mrs. Albert Dietrich, and Mrs.
Carroll Love, mother of the prospective
bridegroom.
Hostesses included Mrs. David Burcl-
smith, Mrs. ForTesl Newton, Miss Mary Lou
Preston and Miss Cathy Butler, who served
refreshments at the table which was centered
with an arrangement of red carnations and
red candle.
Nowadays a correspondent is lucky to get
a brief write-up of the wedding published in
these papers and little else.
ROBERT AND LAQUITA BLEVINS
were hosts in their home at 427 N. Briscoe,
July 23 at 7 p.m. to the Young Married
Sunday School Class of the Central Church
of Christ, a group known as Upward Bound
Fellowship.
The fun evening was spent eating, visit-
ing, playing cards, basketball and dominoes.
Everyone took his or her favorite vegetable
dish, salad or dessert. Meat and drinks were
furnished. Most of the time the 47 adults and
children were out of doors at the Blevins
home, as the weather was pretty, but some of
the time was spent indoors with telcvison
and Nintendo games.
The couples have a fellowship meeting
once a month. In June the social was at the
Donald Adams’ home and in August it will
be at the home of the Trey Morgans.
BEST WISHES TO FORMER Tulian

547, Thelma is doing great and expects to go

with her daughter and son-in-law, Donna
and Jim Shcwmakcr.

family, Robert, Lori, Michael, and Roberts
friend Missye from July 20th to 24th. On
Wednesday we all attended the musical drama

cue meal preceding the performance.
