daughter, of Foard City, were guests

Mrs. W. D. Flippen of Flyodada, in
a letter to Mayor F. P. Shrader of
this place, requested him to see the
editor of The Journal and inform him
that she could stand on her porch and
see enough moisture in the air and
water on the ground from rains that
fell last week-end to wet a postage
stamp, and that they do not have to
use pins to make the stamps stay on
the letters. In that case the Floy-
dada Hesperian will have to retract
the statement which was reprinted in
The Frisco Journal.

V. Quisenberry and Mrs. J. M. Mal-
low were in Dallas Thursday.

Fort Worth were guests of Mr. and
Mrs. F. P. Shrader the first of the
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Martin of Burk-
burnett visited the former’s parents,
Arthur Martin and wife, here, and the
latter’s parents, Jim Killian and wife
at Sanger Sunday.
Achilles Rector and wife of San-
ger and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rector of
Dallas were here Sunday to attend
decoration at Bethel.
Gus Stacey and Frank Harrington
of Plano were here Wednesday. They
stated that less rain fell in Plano on
Monday night than we received here',
in fact, they received a gentle show-
er, while Tuesday night’s rain was
slightly heavier.
Lee Tarpley wrote to his uncle, F.
P. Shrader that he was leaving New
Mexico for Oregon where he hopes to
raise a better grade sheep and with
better conditions and grazing than is
now possible in the west.
A. F. Quisenberry of Plainview
writes to his parents, C. V. Quisen-
berry and wife of this place, of the
beneficial rains that have fallen in
that section within the past few days.
The wheat around Plainview and at
Hale Center, which was badly in need
of rain, now promises some yield. An
abundance of feed crops will now be
planted and grass will improve.
Last Sunday being Mother’s Day,
Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Standerfer had
the pleasure of having all their chil-
dren at home. Mr. and Mrs. Kid Pol-
ser and little daughter; Frank Stines
and family; Avery Collins worth and
family; Clarence Parvin, wife and
baby; and sons, Earl and Charles.
J. G. (John) Thompson of Crowell
spent last week here visiting relatives
and old friends. Mr. Thompson lived
in the Baccus community for many
years. He came to attend the goHen
wedding anniversary of his brother,
Byrom, and wife at their*home south
of Lebanon. The celebration took
place Wednesday of last week, May
9th, and was attended by about 70
guests. The two men, with Mrs. Jim
Covington, Mrs. E. C. Miller of Wes-
ton fmd Mts. Betti* Dunafan of the
old neighborhood, are brothers and
sisters. A most bountiful and elegant
dinner was served and the reunion of
relatives and old friends was heartily
enjoyed.
Verdie Sparks came in Thursday
night of last week from Crane coun-
ty oil fields where he had been work-
ing for several weeks.
Mrs. W. A. Reynolds and son, Er-
nest, of McKinney visited her daught-
er, Mrs. M. E. O’Neill, and family
Tuesday of this week.
Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Marcom and
daughters, Ellen, Amelia and Ruth,
visited Mrs. B, L. Marcom at Leonard
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Muse came out
from McKinney Sunday to attend the
Bethel decoration and also to visit
their mother, Mrs. Mary Acker, and
family.
Mrs. A. J. Craft and family visited
his sister, Mrs. C. W. Sonntag, and
family Sunday. Mr. Craft was on his
way to Temple where he is employed
by the Lone Star Gas Co.
The Junior Epworth League met
with 20 present Friday afternoon at
3:30. They practiced songs for the
decoration at Bethel Sunday.

Mrs. J. H. Mclntire, Tuesday. They
were accompanied to Frisco by Mrs.
Hooper and daughter, Elta Lee, who
visited Mrs. Ramsey, south of town.

McConnell, of Los Angeles, last week
in which was $1.50 money order for

Elder R. C. Horn of McKinney and
Eugene Holmes of Austin were in
