ing of even diameter throughout, it will be
seen that the staff itself cannot be dismounted
from its bearing in the bottom of the recepta-
5 cle except by loosening the collar 15, which is
contiguous to the rear bearing 10, and sliding
the driven shaft rearwardly to remove the
gear 12 from the plane of the pinion 13.
Various changes in the form, proportion,
io and the minor details of construction may be
resorted to without departing from the spirit
or sacrificing any of the advantages of this
invention.
Having described my invention, what I
15 claim is-
In a churn, the combination with a vertical
dasher-shaft, and the churn-receptacle; of the
dasher comprising a vertical tubular body
portion having at its upper end a top openingand a shaft - collar adjustably fitted to the 20
dasher-staff, and a circular hollow air-dis-
tributing head fitted to the lower end of said
tubular body portion and consisting of a pair
of spaced imperforate parallel disks, and a
series of segmentally-curved wings 34, fitting 25
between the disks and radiating from the cen-
ter to the edges thereof, said wings having
their outer portions 36 curved concentrically
with the vertical axis of the dasher to produce
contracted air-discharge ports 35 at the pe- 30
riphery of the head, substantially as set forth.

my own I have hereto affixed my signature in
