Memo From Meyerland
BARBARA ADAIR
MO 5-7096
Alter sitting in front of the
typewriter for some live or ten
minutes debating about where to
start — I have finally decided to
begin at the beginning. There
are so many thoughts going on
in my mind and much news in
our area this week.
The real beginning was at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Carlton Brenke, 8715 Ferris. One
I week ago today, on January 17,
' Richard Carlton Brenke 11 made
' his appearance in this world,
i He weighed in at Methodist Hos-
! pitai with 7 pounds and two oun-
ces. At home waiting for him
| when he arrived over the week
I end were his two older sisters,
! Heide, 2, and Gretchen 10.
I While at Methodist Hospital.
let me mention that Ernie D. Da-
vis was there last week for sur-
gery. She was improving nicely
Friday and looking forward to
a trip home soon.
Ferris Drive was well repre-
sented though not all of it vas
pleasant. Harold Benoit of 8714
Ferris was also there as a patient.
I He was having tests made and
I hope by this time had good re-
ports.

through lunch until 2 p.m. Re-
servations are due by Febi-uarv

TIONS IN MOST SIZES 1-14, REG. 3.99-12.99
A Dolphin Dance Class will
also start on that date for 13
through 17 year olds. Mrs.
Due to the change in the school
schedules last week 1 was in-
correct on the date of the coro-
nation at Johnston Junior High.
Instead of Thursday, the event
took place on Friday and Miss
Bettye Lou De Jon, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. De
Jon, 5223 Jackwood, was crown-
ed Queen. King was Bob Sanders
son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Raymond
Sanders, 5112 Mimosa.
While making my tour of hos-
pitals last week I saw three fa-
miliar faces in volunteer uni-
forms at St. Lukes Episcopal
Hospital. Mrs. Harry F. Ebert,
5114 Jason; Mrs. Robt. H. Lyons,
5202 Grape: and Mrs. Robert Q.
Pegram, 5206 Valerie were all
on duty. By evesdropping I
learned that Mrs. Ebert and Mrs.
Pegram were honored Monday
by being placed on the Auxiliary
Board. This impresses me as a
very worthwhile way to use
spare time.
