Dr. Francis B. Tardeau, son of the
| late Dr, Edward Livingston Trudeau,
“Father of the Sanatorium Move-
men*,’’ will be the speaker on the
'program. He will present the Christ-
mas Seal message for the 2,000 af-
filiated tuberculosis associations
throughout the country. The cam-
palgn Is conducted between Thanks-
giving day and Christmas and the
funds obtained by the sale of the
seals at a penny each finance a
| program of free nursing service, cltn.
| les, rehabilitation, education, tuber-
| culin testing of children, X-rays, so-
cial and medical research.
Both of the nation’s radio favor-
ites, the golden voiced Jessica Drag-
onette and Lanny Boss, have volun-
teered their services as their contri-
bution to the cnmpalgn, and will
sing a duet as the feature event of
the program. The other stars who
are contributing their talents are Ro-
sario Bourdon, noted conductor;
Frank Banta and Milton Retten-
berg, pianist; and Jacques Malkin
and his Renaissance ensemble. Tire
ensemble, which is unique in the
musical field, Is being heard this
season for the first time in America.
The artists In this unusual group
play Instruments of the 19th and
17th centuries, some of which never
have been heard previously in this
country. Julius Schulman plays the
dessus de viole, a violin with six
strings; Youry Btlstin plays the viola
de gamba, an Instrument similar
to a cello, but with twelve strings;
/Leo Small plays a two-manual
harpsichord; Benjamin Felnbloom
plays the boss de viole, an Instru-
ment of three strings midway be-
tween the cello and the double bass;
and Jacques Malkin, the director of
,the group, plays the fourteen string-
zed viola d’amour,
