ATHLETIC REPORT
| a 10-9 defeat they suffered earlier.
| The final score was 36-13. This
puts Shamrock and Wheeler tied
for first place in conference stand-
ing. Each team has one more game
to play and Mobeetle has two more.
If Mobeetie wins both games, we
will all be In a tie, If Shamrock and
Wheeler both win from Mobeetie
the teams will still be tied and there
will be a play off, and thereby hang-
eth a tale.
Wednesday night the Irish Las-
sies won a neat game from the Do-
zier girls and the Irish Yannigans
dropped one just as neatly. Gerald
Geyer got a crick out of his neck
and did most of the scoring for the
Irish, but he and the rest of the
team couldn’t do enough to over-
take the Dozier lead. Bill Hall
playfully fouled several of the Do-
zier boys, and thereby got thrown
out of the game. Coach Perkins
got in a Joviel mood and pulled sev-
eral fast ones, and I though they
were good Jokes, too. However, the
most entertaining feature of the
evening was when Coach sent a
well known, handsome, athletic and
witty young man to keep time. His
opposing time-keepers were a cou-
ple of Dozier dames, and a hilar-
ious time was had by all, especial!
ious time was had by all, especially
know him?). I will ask that you
overlook the rather sketchy account
of the game, but really, I was not In
a very good position to see all the
minor details of It.
Did it ever occur to any Irish fan
that our team hasn't lost but one
home game (to the Concho Indians)
and that they haven't won an out-
of-town game? The nearest they
have come is a 20-20 tie with Pain-
pa, unless you count the rather un-
official game at the Pampa tourney
with Durham. There Is a reason
for this and it Isn’t the team either.
It’s the two-by-four imitation hen-»
coop that they have for a gymna*
slum. That gymnasium is a dis-
grace to this town. I have seen'
every gym in this football confer-
ence with the exception of Quita-
que and Estilline and every one ofi
them is at least 100 per cent better;
than ours, and I have heard that
Estelline has a gym that would be
a credit to a town the size of Am-
arillo. That is one reason why Es-
telline has a national calibre bas-
ketball team, while we have ond
that might win the county cham-
pionship. I feel and hope that as
soon os we get our football field all
fixed up that we will get a new gym
for our basketball games. It was
all right as long as other towns ini
this part ot the country had gyms
like ours, but when the boys dd
get in a new and good gym they;
don’t know how to act.
All off—end of line.

“What
Will I Wear?”
The eternal question, isn’t it?
And, since It’s impossible to have a new dress for
every occasion, why not do the next best thing and
let us keep all your gowns always looking like new ?
Skilful, careful work at a price that’s moderate indeed.
And every gown that we return gives you one more good
answer to that eternal question every woman ao often asks.
