More and more towns the size of
Shamrock are changing to the city
manager type government. It is the
unanimous opinion of officials con-
tacted that those cities have ben-
efited and are giving their citizens
more for their tax dollars.
Following informal talks by the
Tulla, Perryton and Dalhart offic-
ials at the Town Hall meeting Mon-
day night, a detailed discussion will
take place with questions welcomed
from all those present.

Company has announced the pur-
chase of property adjoining the
company’s present central office
building in Shamrock.
Manager George H. Newberry
said that the company has bought
a piece of property 70 feet by 140
feet on the west side of the tele-
phone office. Tne company's prop-
erty now extends to the corner.
The land was obtained from Mr.
and Mrs E C. Hunter. Purchase
price was *7500.
Newberry said the land would
be used for future expansion of
the Shamrock telephone system.
Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Hittbrun-
ner and son, Kenneth, ot Brown-
field. were here last week-end. They
visited with his sister, Mrs. Tom
Montgomery and other relatives.
Mrs M. Y. Cobb made a plane
trip from Oklahoma City, Okla., to
New York. She ts visiting with rel-
atives in Chatham, N. J., and will
also visit in Auburn, Maine, before
returning about October 1.
