tist church of Abilene and a former
school teacher.
She is an active member of Alpha
Sigma Chi, Metochiu, the Library
I Club, Baptist Student Union and
Poetry Society of Texas.
She was honored with autograph
parties by three Wellington groups,
and also at Odessa.
The author discussed her book
and methods of writing as she
autographed copies for guests, dur-
ing the entertaining hours from
3.00 to 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon.

was held at the First Baptist
Church Sunday evening to honor
Miss Carol Ann Spear, bnde-clect

Taking part in the impressive
program were members of the
Young Woman's Auxiliary of the
Woman’s Missionary Union.
Assisting were Mr Don Meares.
WMU president; Mrs. Robert Clem-
ents, YWA director; and Mrs. Roy
Reeves, YWA counselor.
Members of the Geraldine Law-
son Circle of the WMU, sponsoring
circle of YWA, held a reception at
the close of tin ceremony in the
lower auditorium of the church.
In the receiving line were Miss
Spear, her uncle and aunt, Mr. and
Mrs Fred flowers, Billy Pike, fi-
ance of the honor guest, and his
mother, Mrs. Dan Pike.
