Will Ellis has been recuperat-
ing: at home this week/
Mesdames V. A. Randall and
S. L. Randlett attended the
Parks-Bookhout wedding- in Dal-
las Thursday evening.
The White Gin Co. and the
Lancaster Gin Co. are making a
reduction in price of wrapping
and ginning. See their ads.
Burrell Oats will be tried the
fifth time November 15th for
the murder of Sol Arnoff. He
has been given the death penalty
three times.
Mrs. Lucian Head lost a cot-
tage in Oak jlCliff bv fire this
week and an adjoining one was
scorched. Loss partly covered
by insurance.
Preparatory services are being
held at the Presbyterian church
this week. Communion service
will he held at the close of the
service Sunday morning.
Dr. Carnes’ answer to E. A.
Gracey came in this week, but
unexpected ads coming in Thurs-
day morning made it necessary
to omit it until next week
Attention is called to the pro-
gram of the Deestrict Skule on
another page. The enrollment
ot pupils guarantees an enter-
tainment that will please all.
The contest to be held between
the Lancaster and Wilmer de-
gree teams, W. O. W., will take
place in the Lancaster lodge
room Tuesday night, Oct. 12th.
The McCue trial is on this
week at Fort Worth. Pringle
was on the stand Wednesday.
This. is the third bearing for
this case, and the end is not yet.
The Lancaster Homesteaders
order will entertain their friends
at Odd Fellow Hall Saturday
night, Oct. 2nd. A lecture en-
titled “On the Road to Jericho,”
will be one of the entertaining
features.
The Epworth league enter-
tained in honor of tfie College
boys who attend their services,
at the home of Miss Theresa Mc-
David Friday night of last week.
