A record number of caring, supportive
members of the Jewish community turned out

There was a late-night co-ed celebration Saturday, Feb. 22,
in the Robert M. Beren Academy gym.
The Beren girls and boys basketball teams won back-to-
back playoff games to bring themselves within one win of going
to Fort Worth for the TAPPS State Basketball Final Four.
The girls beat Christian Academy of San Antonio 38-32,
while the boys followed with a 43-36 win over Faith Academy
of Victoria. Both teams were scheduled to play after JHV press
time Tuesday in the regional round at Schulenburg High School.
The boys were set to face Boerne Geneva, who the Stars lost
to in quadruple overtime last year in the state semifinals last
year. The girls were set to meet New Braunfels Christian.
On Saturday, however, it was all smiles in the Beren gym.
