Throw in descriptions like "singer" and "outstanding entertainer," and
f you'll have a pretty good idea why Red Steagall has taken a deep seat in
the fast-moving arena of modern country music, and was so popular at the
OS Ranch in 1980
Born into a large family and reared in Sanford, Texas, music and rodeo
have always been an important part of Red's life. He grew up with Tex
Ritter and Jim Reeves as idols, admiring Bob Wills' style, and formed a
band while attending West Texas State University. The revenue sup-
plemented his tuition and the remainder paid his bull riding entry fees.
With a degree in Animal Husbandry and Agronomy, he worked five years
in agricultural chemistry. Then his first love proved too strong, so it was
back to his music . . . and his audiences have never regretted his decision.
Red Steagall is performing at the Friday night party, the Saturday barbecue,
and the Saturday night dance.compliments of Clark Lumber Co., Inc., Snyder, Texas
