Jack Fusselman and County Attor-
ney Frank X. Vance attended the
law enforcement conference held by
the Fedral Bureau of Investigation
at New Braunfels Wednesday. An
intensive program aimed at more
strict enforcement of laws affecting
prostitution in Southwest Texas was
presented by Federal agents and
Army officers. A barbecue suppei
was served following the confer
ence, to about 200 officers repre-
senting ten counties in this area.
The conference was one of ten to bo
held by the F. B. I.
Mrs. H. K. Martin, now of Mem*
phis. Tenn., hut before her marriagi
Miss Lottie Cruseturner of Hondo
and her son, Henry K. Martin, are
here on a visit to Mrs. Martin’s moth-
er. Mrs. John W. Cruseturner. Mrs.
Martin lost a son, John Winter Mar-
tin, killed at Pearl Harbor in the
Jap attack on December 7th last,
and has another son serving in the
Navy.
Lt. James W. Mill- was the speak-
er for services at the Church of
Christ, Hondo, last Sunday, July 26.
Lt. Mills has had several years of
speaking experience and has horn a
successful minister in Ti xa.-, Colo
rado and Oklahoma. It is planned
to resume regular services at the lit-
tle church which has been without a
preacher for several years.
