LEATHER JACKETS
‘Twas on the first Thanksgiving Day
Back in the long ago.
The Pilgrim lathers knelt to pray
Gave thanks to God you know.
For their safe voyage across the sea.
Fur safely landing here
In this wonderful land of the free
W here no one need have fear.
No fear -»f kings and rulers stern,
Here all have liberty,
An equal right to live and learn
The true democracy.
And now on this Thanksgiving Day
With all the world at war.
All people every where should pray,
We’ve much to thank God for.
We’re fighting for a righteous cause
To free our world from sin,
We must pray God now as we pause
That righteousness will win.
“Give thanks to God for he is good
His mercy doth endure”.
So sang the Psalmist, as we should
To make our lives secure.
