Joseph A. Hudson, Manager of the
Western Newspaper Union, was here
from Houston Saturday talking
reHdy-print service to the Anvil Her-
ald management. Mr. Houston is a
mo«t agreeable gentlemen and pre-
sented his wares in almost appealing
manner, but local advertising is not
to be had in sufficient volume nor
is the price at which they sell space
to foreign advertisers sufficient to
make the service available for our
purpose.

The rain of which the Anvil Herald
contained an account up to last Fri-
day morning continued throughout
the day and into Friday night. The
precipitation amounting to .60 of an
inch. This added to the rain pre-
viously reported, gives in a total
piecipitation for the spell of 3.25
inches—which would be considered
v pretty good rain even in the wet
zone of the state. Our farmers
will now raise another corn crop to
feed those living in the less favored
sections east.
The third and last of the Dixie
Lyceum entertainments was given at!
the Auditorium last Tuesday evening.
The Clifford Foote Trio gave a
most entertaining concert—one that
appealed most strongly of the three
attractions to the Hondo public.
[ They likewise had the largest house,
but nevertheless the Lyceum course
bas proven a failure from a financial
standpoint and instead of the Parent-
‘ Teacher Association profiting there-
from there is a deficit of uncomfort-
able dimensions to be made up by |
the guarantors. 1
