Miss Bennett
Is Married To
Robert I,. Moore
Miss Deborah Bennett, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. K.M, Bennett,
5109 Patrick Henry, and Robert
L. Morre were married in Lake-
land First United Methodist Church
in Lakeland, Fla., on Nov. 30.
Rev. LeBron Free performed the
ceremony. The groom’s parents
are Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Moore of

The bride was given in marriage
by her father. Miss Bonnie Moore,
sister of the bridegroom, served as
maid of honor. Best man was Jeff
Sali.
Guests attending the wedding
included the parents of the bride
and groom, relatives and friends.
The bride’s brother, Clark, of
Washington, D.C., came to Florida
for the wedding.
The bride is a graduate of Bell-
aire High School and is attending
Sophie Newcomb College in New
Orleans, La. The groom is a sen-
ior at Tulane University and an
anthropholgy major. The couple
will live in New Orleans.
Saturday was an eventful day for
many Dads who traveled across
Texas to be with their daughters
at Houston Baptist College. Over
1600 fans watched the Mighty Husk-
ies’ narrow defeat to Texas Tech.
The Association of Women Stu-
dents sponsored Dad’s Day. Fath-
ers received invitations early in
the week and made preparations
to visit their daughters. The new
Moody Library was the scene of
a coffee given in their honor when
Dads registered on the guest list
and enjoyed coffee, doughnuts and
meeting other Dads. Some enthus-
iastic Dads came alone because
their daugters were working or ill.
Open House began at 11 during
which the Dads were invited to
tour the campus and visit the dorms
and apartments. At noon over 100
Dads, daughters, faculty members
and administrators attended lunch
at the Ramada Inn. Don Looser,
Assistant to the President of
Engagement
Announced
The engagement of Martha Sim-
mons and Robert Henschenhas been
announced by her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. J. A. Simmons Jr. of
Colorado Springs, Colo. Mr. Hen-
schen is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur E. Henschen, 5038 Wigton.
The wedding will be in the First
Presbyterian Church in Denton.
The couple are seniors at North
Texas State University.
Academic Altai rs, was in cnarge
of the program, a presentation
and description of the school, its
progress and its future aims. Mr.
Looser called his preview “H.B.C.
- Yesterday, Today and Tomor-
row.” It included colorful slides
of the school and many of its stu-
dents and personnel.
Dr. W.H. Hinton, President of
newly accredited Houston Baptist,
took charge of a question-and-
answer forum with the Dads. He
explained some of the most re-
cent advances in buildingprojects,
such as the circular mall now under
construction. Dads came with
their daughters to the basketball
game free of admission and mon-
etary awards were given to the
Dad who had traveled the farth-
erest and the one who was the
youngest.
The Dads thoroughly enjoyed the
game. Even though HBC did not
beat Texas Tech, a Southwest Con-
ference member, it was a tight
game and HBC gave Tech a scare
in the closing moments of the game
when the Huskies squeezed the gap
to 3 points.
