PLANNING AHEAD
That's not unusual for members of FFA.
They are already preparing for their future career in
agriculture. They're enrolled in a vocational agri-
cultural education program.
As a group, the FFA chapter knows the value of plan-
ning ahead for a better community and a better
America.
CEDAR HILL LOCKER
Cedar Hill residents
may have had a visitor
earlier this week or can
expect one since the
Cedar Hill Chamber of
Commerce is busy this
week conducting a cen-
sus in Cedar Hill. The
census will be conducted
door to door. Chamber
members divided a map
into sections with one
person responsible for
that section. Each per-
son in charge of one sec-
tion recruited friends or
other Board members to
help them with the cen-
sus.
The purpose of the
census is to determine
whether or nor there are
enough people in Cedar
Hill to call a Charter
Election for a Home Rule
City. A city must have
5000 population in order
to call a charter elec-

House Of CHEER
Being Planned
The house of CHEER
now is just a concept
in the minds of the
Cedar Hill Evangelistic
Enabling Resource com-
mittee-—a place where
one youth can share
with another what Christ
means in his life. The
concept moved closer
to reality Sunday, Fe-
ruary 11, as the CHEER
committee met to hear
progress reports from
two comittees.
Mr. Bill Duncan re-
ported that the rules and
guidelines committee
had met and appointed
an Advisory Board of
eight members; Marsha
Nutting, C.R. James,
Jr., Lois Cannady, Paul
Brooks, Ann Permenter,
J.T. Sims, Glenn Clark,
and Bob Graham. A
Youth Board of Direc-
tors is being formed to
plan and execute the
House of CHEER pro-
gram. Mr. Carl Schoon-
over of Dallas will meet
with the youth and in-
terested adults on Feb-
ruary 25 to plan a train-
ing course in witnessing
and counseling prior to
beginning the ministry.
Mr. Joe Cannady re-
ported that the committee
on facilities was contin-
uing to look for a suit-
able building for the
House of CHEER. Sev-
eral possibilities are
being investigated, but
nothing definite has
been decided on. Mr.
Cannady’s committee is
trying to locate a suit-
able place hear the City
Hall square.
Memberhsip in the
CHEER committee to-
tal’s 37 to date according
to Mr. C.R. James, Jr.,
chairman. The purpose
of the group is “to spon-
sor activities which will
further the cause of
Jesus Christ in Cedar
Hill.” Anyone wishing
to join CHEER or find
out more about the or-
ganization is invited to
call Mr. James at 291-
