Tax Statements
For 1964 Will Be
In The Mail Soon
The 1964 Tax Statements for the
City of White Deer will soon be in
the mail to the property owners. The
tax roll reflects a slight increase
over the total taxes assessed for
1963. New residences constructed ac-
count for this increase. The tax value
placed upon property is 25 percent
of value and $1.50 is collected for
every ($100.00) one hundred dollars
of valuation. This tax rate has been
in effect for a number of years here
in White Deer.
The 1964 tax statement has a new
feature. Property owners receiving
statements are asked to take ad-
vantage of the fact that they will
be able to sign an inventory of pro-
perty on the reverse side of the
statement. Rendering of property is
required by law. In signing this in-
ventory, an extra business session
at the City Hall is eliminated.
Benefits dervied from tax monies
are adequate street lighting, street
maintenance, fire protection, police
protection, assurance of the demo-
cratic processes in elections and
fair equalization of property.
TO ATTEND WORKSHOP
Ronnie Parks, high school speech
teacher, will accompany 25 mem-
bers of the Masquers Club to Can-
yon on Saturday, October 10, where
they will attend an all-day work-
shop.
