Fails to Shed Any Light
. On Motives
(By United Praia.)
Birmingham, Ala., Aug. 17.—Ex-
amination of the business and per.
soiial affairs of Roland A. Mullins,
business manager of the Binning
ham Age-Herald, today faljed to re-
veal any motive for his suicide yes-
terday. A nervous breakdown Is be-
lieved to have been responsible.
Mullins’ body was found in the
dense woods on Shades mountain,
near Birmingham, after a search of
several hours. He had shot himself
through the heart.
Several notes, addressed to his
wife and dealing with minor per-
sonal matters, were found. They
gave no motive for his act.
These notes, together with the
story of his chauffeur that Mullins
had driven to Shades mountain and
then had him bring hts car back to
town, aroused fears and search was
started by business associates which
resulted in the finding of the body.
Mulllna had been business mnna-
of the Age-Herald for nearly
lr years. He wan also southern
manager for I!. L. Polk and com-
pany .publishers of city directories.
The funeral will be held this after-
noon.
Mullins was 4 3 years old. He is
survived by his wife. He was born
in Brunswick, Georgia.

BOYS WILL FIGHT BUT
THEY MUST BE SPANKED
When boys fight the proper thing
to do is for the parents of each 'to
separate them and give them a good
spanking.
With this advice W. E. Lea dis-
missed a case in the city court to-
day in which it was complained-
that older persons interfered in’ a
juvenile fight, one having tried to
Interfere and give his favorite the
best of the fight and the other hav-
ing interfered to let the boys fight
