loon in Whitewright to good busi-
vantage---Thomas Cornell, while
hunting in the woods, near John
Scott’s place, fired at what he sup-
posed to be a partridge. It turned
out to be John Darling, who was
"sitting behind a log.** The shooter
mistook his bald head for a bird.
The head received several bird shot,
but the wounds, fortunately, were
not serious-----Joe Perry, former-
ly of Denison, was registrating
