The federal law that governs spe-
cial education services (IDEA-indi-
viduals with Disabilities Education
Act) requires that the school district
meet with all the private schools
where students with disabilities
attend.
This includes all home schools.
Contact the special education office
at 972-291-5243 if your child has
disabilities and attends a private
school or is being home schooled.
CHISD will meet with representa-
tives from these schools to gather
input on how to best expend federal
funds for these students. These
schools do not need to be located
within the CHISD boundaries.
• • • •
CHISD will destroy the special
education records of students with
disabilities who graduated or left
school in the 1991-92 school year.
Anyone wishing their records
should call 972-291-5243.
All unclaimed records will be
destroyed July 29.

“As far as 1 know, a lot of people
use the program, and therefore I
would encourage the city of Lancas-
ter to continue using it,” he said.
Shante’ Jordan of Cedar Hill said
the program helps give residents a
safe and effective option for dispos-
ing of their chemical waste products.
“We field several calls a month
from citizens asking, ‘Where can I
dispose of my paint cans or other
waste,”’ she said. “This is a good
method of getting rid of hazardous
waste.”
There is no limit to the amount of
products that citizens can dispose of,
however, residents of each participat-
ing city must bring proof of residen-
cy, Jordan said.
For hours of operation and direc-
tions to the HC3, call 214-630-9160.
Hazardous Waste Materials in-
clude: Ammonia, detergents, drain
cleaners, floor wax, furniture polish,
mothballs, oven cleaner, septic tank
cleaners, spot removers, window
cleaners, aerosol sprays, nail polish
removers, toilet bowl cleaners, tub
and tile cleaners, artificial dyes, glues
and cements, household batteries,
paints and stains, photo chemicals,
pool chemicals, stain and varnish
removers, thermometers, turpentine
and paint thinners, varnish, wood
sealers, brake fluid, car and truck bat-
teries, lighter fluid, motor oils, tires,

stroking her ears. She was amazing!
She liked it! She really like it!
There is a glass enclosed area
with an old timely bathtub and video
facilities for the cats to watch bird
videos during their play time. Our
cats were not too keen on the bird
videos because they have a whole
backyard full of the real thing but
they did enjoy playing in the bath-
tub.
While they were there they were
each treated to a bath and detailed
grooming. They looked magnificent!
From Page 4
Their fur just glistened. The cats told
me privately that they loved the rub-
downs and would I please take
lessons from the owners on how to
do it correctly to a cat!
They also commented that the
next time we went on vacation that
would we please send them back to
that “room with a view” at Cats In
The Cradle. Without a doubt my hus-
band and I were really impressed
with the very special care our pets
had while we vacationed.
