Meneses Benefit
There will be a benefit dance and auction for
Mark and Reneigh Meneses and family on
Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at the Jaycees barn,
located at the corner of Fourth and Cypress
Streets. The Meneses home was recently heav
ily damaged in a fire. The auction will begin at
7 p.m. and the dance will be from 9 p.m. to 1
a.m. There will be a $5 admission charge and a
$5 cooler charge. Barbecue sandwiches will
also be sold. All proceeds will go to the
Meneses Family. For more information, con-

Trinity Baptist
Trinity Baptist Church will host a showing of
the movie Fireproof at 7 p.m. on Saturday,
Feb. 7, in the church sanctuary, located at the
corner of Hailey and Santa Fe. The public is
invited to attend. Childcare will be provided.
Sunday, Feb. 8
FUMC Adventure
First United Methodist Church will be hav-
ing it Crocodile Dock Adventure for children
ages toddler through third grade from 5-6:30
p.m. beginning Sunday, Feb 8, from 5:00 -
6:30 pm. This activity is open for all children
in the community. Children are invited to par-
ticipate in a swampland adventure as they dis-
cover God's amazing light through wild Bible
adventures, cool crafts, wild and wacky games
and swamp stompin music.

SIS PTO
Sweetwater Intermediate School PTO will
have a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9. at
the school's cafeteria.
American Legion
Sweetwater American Legion Post #109 and
Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9,
at the Jaycees Building, located at 1001 Crane
Street. All members and veterans interested in
becoming members are encouraged to attend.

Baseball Registration
Sweetwater Little League will have their reg-
istration from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 9"19> a*
Sweetwater Police Department meeting room,
located at 201 E. Fourth Street. There will also
be a registration from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday,
Feb. 19. Players must be between ages 5-16 as
of April 30, 2009. Parents will need to bring
birth certificates, proof or residence, health
insurance information, T-shirt size and regis-

Heart Health Screenings
Confidential heart health screenings are
being offered by Accolade Home Care as part
of Heart Health month, a national initiative of
the American Heart Association. The screen-
ings will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Center, 511 Montgomery, Dickens, TX 79229.

The Sweetwater Jump Rope Team will be
jumping at the Sweetwater varsity boy's game
Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m. at SHS gym.
Cub Scout Banquet
Cub Scout Pack 146 will have their annual
Blue and Gold Banquet and Pack meeting
from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the
4th and Elm Church of Christ warehouse. All
Cub Scouts and their families are encouraged
to attend and a meal will be provided and
awards will be given out.
Masons
Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571 will have a
stated meeting Tuesday, Feb. 10. 1 he dinner
will begin at 5:30 p.m. and meeting will be at
6:30 p.m. All FA, FC and Master Masons are
urged to attend.
Free Credit Workshop
The Texas Tech Small Business
Development Center will conduct a free work-
shop on Credit im:Understanding Credit. This
workshop will provide a basic overview of
credit scoring and how to improve your credit.
This woikshop is Tuesday,y Feb. 10, from 4-6
p.m. The workshop will take place in the Texas
Tech Conference room located on the 6th floor
of the Enterprise Building. 500 Chestnut.
