out Hereford, and particularly
along Highway 00, this spring.
Pyracantha his been chosen
by the Federation committee as
the official plant for Deaf
Smith county.
Under the State Highway De-
partment program, each county
Is asked to select a plant or
flower, and to set out that plant
proUflcally along its highways
and in Its towns.
Pyrancantha was chosen by
the Hereford Civic Improvement
committee as the prize to be of-
fered local home-owners In the
City’s C16an-up Campaign last
fall. Those prizes are bring a-
warded now, and at the same
time, the Federation is pushing
its program of Pyracantha plant-
ing throughout the city.
A Kress nursery has con-
tracted to supply Pyracantha
plants at a special price of two
dollars each for sale In Hereford.
Plants are two yean old, and
wily be guaranteed through one
growing season.
Orden are now being received.
The plants are available at the
new W. 8. Flultt home at 1086
25-Mlle Avenue, and Mrs. Flultt
will receive orden.
A nursery man Is available
and will plant the Pyracantha
anywhere In the city at no ex-
tra charge. Five hundred plants
are available now, and they
should be planted within the
next tew weeks, the nursery ad-
vises.
Plants which do not live
through this summer will be re-
placed free of charge next
spring, Mrs. Flultt advises.

stated that he has Information
afallable about all phases of
army enlistments. Aviation Ca-
det training has been re-opened.
To qualify for pilot training,
an applicant must be 18-86 years
of age, a high school graduate,
single, and able to meet the phy-
sical and mental qualifications.
Direct enlistments are now be-
ing accepted for the 1st Caval-
ry Division In Tokyo, 11th Air-
borne Division In Tokyo, 84th
and 86th Divisions In Japan, 6th
and 7th divisions In Korea, and
the 82nd Airborne which is now
stationed in the United States.
