With better than, 6,000 boys

Texas Congressmen and United

Since applying is not the only

examination, which was given
at Carswell Air Force Base in
Fort Worth.
These tests will show whether
Larry is physically and mental-

joyed myself and met lots of
new people,” Larry said.

Mar. 31 Deadline
For Medicare
Registration
The Waco Social Security Of-
fice is expecting a last min-
ute rush next week. March 31
is the deadline for persons over
65 to enroll for Medicare. A1
Bracken, district manager, will
keep the office open all day
Saturday, March 26, and until
9:30 p.m. each night the next
week through Thursday, March
31.
Bracken recognizes that it is
difficult for many people to call
at the office during regular
hours. These include people who
are over 65 and still working.
They should file an application
by March 31 even though they
have no immediate plans for
retirement.
Another large group includes
those over 65 who have worked
very little or not at all under
social security. Bracken empha-
sized that even those who have
never had a social security
number may qualify for Medi-
care benefits.
The address of the Waco offi-
ce is 3326 Franklin Avenue and
special Medicare telephone
number is PL 3-2681.

Sokol News
Thirty-three persons attend-

Monday night, March 21, in the
West High School gym. We
were very pleased to have with
us Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Milan,
physical instructors of the Ft.

Stoeppelman, and Roy Stein-
man, also from Fort Worth. Mr.
Milan is also director of men’s
physical training in the South-

Mrs. Milan and Mrs. stoeppel-
man worked with the girls,
demonstrating various floor ex-
ercises, ballet routines, leaps
and lunges, body bends, splits,
and basic arm and leg move-
ments. We also performed var-
ious stunts with the horse. Mary
Jean took charge of the young-
er girls, teaching them the art
of tumbling and simple drops on
the trampoline.
Under Mr. Milan’s supervision,
(the boys performed different
types of hand stands on the low
parallel bars. They also worked
with the horse and trampoline.
James Smetak worked with the
younger boys on the trampoline,
and supervised their tumbling.
Next Monday at 7:30 we will
hold an administrative meeting
before workouts. An entertain-
ment committee will be elected
for our unit. One last reminder
to please pay your dues to Mrs.
Louanne Shelnutt, by the April

(WHO DIED MARCH 30, 1965)
Although it’s still hard to understand
Just why those things must be
And we have found little comfort
In words of sympathy
Our hearts still hurt when we think of her
And our lives feel so bare
We cannot say, we must not say
That she is dead. She is just away.
