4 - The Pony Express
Dramatists to perform during homecoming
by Reuben Davison
Express Writer
If you really like comedy you
need to catch the Panola Drama
Department's production A
Funny Thing Happened on the Way
to the Forum.
This is just one of the activities
planned for Homecoming '96.
The production will occur Feb-
ruary 15 and 16, in the Q.M. Mar-
tin Auditorium.
Panola students will be admit-
ted free. Tickets for adults are $5

Panola are $4. For tickets contact
Liz Hedges at (903) 693-2064.
The hilarious illogicalities of
Latin comedy and the zany non-
sense of vaudeville are webbed in
a marriage in this performance.
Pseudolus, a roguish slave to
a Roman family, schemes to be-
come free. His young master,
Hero, promises freedom if
Pseudolus can obtain a beautiful
girl, Philia, ,hom Hero has seen
from his bedroom window.
While the play is unwinding,
a befuddled father with a shrew-
ish wife, neighbors, strangers and
the Roman army are all drawn
into the mounting confusion.
The great Latin playwright
Plautus was the inspiration for
the authors. The topsy-turvy sit-
uations that kept the Romans
laughing once again prove that
good comedy is classic.
The music and lyrics are by
Stephen Sondheim. The book is
by Burt Sheveloe and Larry
Gelbart.

structor Elizabeth Hedges, in-
cludes 11 men and seven women.

Also, students are required to
pay Panola College tuition for the

The trip is a once in a life-time
experience, according to
Cantwell.
"In addition to this credit, stu-
