The P. T. A. presented thret
one-act plays in the school audi
torium Saturday night. Thost
participating in the plays were

tine Hall, Mr. and Mrs. W. F
Cannon, Vester Wilton, C. T. Pur

The A. B. C. Civics Club wat
(entertained with a sunrise break-
fast on Scout Hill, Saturday
morning. J. T. Jones is club
sponsor.
Misses Irene Cone and Chris-
tine Gale visited in Graham re
cently.
Mrs. H. E. Ware is spending
some time in Olney.
The Baptists of Jermvn and
Bryson met Sunday morning
the Newman Grove. About eigh-
ty people were present for Sun
day school, and several others
came for the preaching service
Rev. Stewart A. Newman preach-
ed a good sermon. After services
lunch was enjoyed by those
present.

Meeting of P. T. A.
The Parent Teacher Associa-
tion met Tuesday, Oct. 17, in an
open meeting. Airs. II. C. Mc-
Clure presided, and one of the
largest numbers of parents and
teachers ever to attend a P. T. A.
meeting was present.
The theme of the meeting was
“School and Home Co-Operating
in Character Building.” Mrs. J.
P. Simpson gave a talk 01^ “How
£ the Home Can Co-Operate with
the School,” Mrs. I. P. Oliver
talked on “The School Co-Oper-
ating with Hie Home.” Mrs. Geo.
D. Brownlee announced that the
Library Club members were mak-
ing plans to tell stories to the pu-
pils in each room of the grade
school once a week. Mrs. Mc-
Clure explained the duties of the
room mothers and how they could
co-operate with the child welfare
committee in caring for needy
children. Year books were pre-
sented to each one present.
The next meeting will he a
business one, and the executive
committee and room mothers are
expected to be present.
The next program meeting will
be on. Tuesday, Nov. 20th, the
subject being “What About
Work.” These meetings will be
held in the high school study hall.

Races Postponed.
The donkey-bicycle races which
are being promoted by the Lions
Club have been postponed until
Monday afternoon, October 30th.
Races will start at 5 o’clock.
The club sponsored an attend-,
ance contest ^recently which re-!
suited in a tie. Several efforts j
have been made to break this, in-
cluding a donkey ball game
which was also a tie.
