THE RICE STATISTICIANS
Secretary Oroves Receiving; Eeports.
. Too irly to Judge as to This
Tear's Acreage.
To a representative of The Post yesterday
A. K. Orov secretary of the Texas Rice
Farmer' ' association atated that reports
from all parte ot the rice producing section
of Texas were most flattering and that the
correspondents which he had appointed to
collect data aa to probable acreage and rice
condltlona generally were doing good work
and had already to a large extent almpll-
fled their business.
It Is too early as yet to aay whether the
acreage thla year will be aa large or larger
than It waa last year but ene thing la oer-
taln and that la general soil and. working
conditions are a great deal better than they
were at this time last year and rice farm-
erg are in better ahape all along the line.
