rajt sum of money Is necessary to
finance a National campaign. In all sec-

the people are contributing- their mite.
This Is the people s flg-nt.' And they ara

To ths Epitoi :
In response to your caU I Inclose here-
with my check for H as my costrlbutlon
toward the fund being raised for tha res-
cue of our republic from the grasp of
plutocracy It seems to me that all good
demcrata should Da urged to nd In at
least this amount as every one of the
7.000.00' democrats In this country can sf-
ford so small an expense and yet the reve-
nue resulting would be amply sufficient to
defray all legitimate expenses of conduct-
ing a decent campaign. Indeed lf this
amount is not sufficient to bring ua vic-
tory. I am afraid that the control of our
grsnd old ship of state has forever passed
from the hands of the common people Into
the hands of tha commercial pirates who
are now steering bar on the high seas of
imperialism -with a greed for gold that
has but few tiroes been equaled in the his-
tory of the world.
I-t ns all hope that democracy will res-
cue the nation. Very truly yours
Alvin Beyer.
