September 5, 1953
Following a prayer offered by President Beto, a pre-semester
meeting of the faculty was called to order at 9:00 A. M.. The
minutes of the previous meetings were approved as read.
Reporting on the cases of students with conditions barring their
return for the school year 1953-54, the President announced the
following:
a high school junior, studied Latin under Pastor
Naumann's supervision and satisfactorily passed
a standardized test for the course.
a high school sophomore, is returning con-
ditionally.
a high school sophomore, has a bona fide credit in
algebra.
a high school sophomore, will not return but will
enroll at Saint Edward's.
a high school junior, studied Latin in an extension
course at the University but did not complete the
requirements. It was resolved to admit him as a
general education student with the hope that he
may make up Latin and later pursue the ministerial
courses of study.
Regarding the pornography deposited in the women's washroom of
Kilian Hall during the last week of the last school year, President
Beto announced that, although evidence of a circumstantial type
indicates a possible offender, there is nothing conclusive extant to
determine the guilty individual.
In connection with the previous announcement various faculty
members commented on the extent of the use of foul language in
campus life. The general impression was that profane and filthy
