HIT BY A NEGRO.
W. P. Bowen of Brunncr and Railroad
avenues was slugged on the head by a
negro at the corner of Washington and
Brunner about 10 o clock Saturday night
and rendered unconscious for a short
time. He vas taken to St. Joseph's in
flrmary in the Houston I'ndertaking
company's ambulance for treatment. The
police arrested a negro suspect.

that he is doing well in the army and

WILD HORSE RIDING.
Some wild horse tiding will be staged
at Camp Logan Sunday afternoon at I
o'clock. In the remount station. The Idea
waa fathered by Sergeant Hhepcrd who
thought it an-opportune time to show the
soldiers some real riding and thaj methods
of breaking In horses which many of the
privates have returned declaring that the
animals were unmanageable. Those who
will participate are bergeant Olistine and
Privates Bell Duke Brown Wild Bill
