1 Farmer Brown was out in hia field one" day when he saw . little
elf with two frisky mules. He was surprised to see an elf in such
company but when the little fellow offered to sell the mules
Farmer Brown bought them.
4 But they were a sorry pair of mules at the end of the day and
' the farmer could not guess why they wept so.
2 When the mules were hitched to the wagon they refused to
work although the farmer whipped them severely. .

5 Thelittle brown elf knew why they wept and his heWt was
touched. He started to sing a magic song and the mules im-
mediately began to turn into a sweet little boy and girl.

3 Finally the farmer tied a bundle of hay to a long pole and fast-
ened it just Jr enough ahead of the stubborn mules to tempt'
them to draw the wagon. "
6 Can you believe me when I tell you that the mules were Son Bud
and Sis all the time? They were turned into mules because they
were stubborn tnd f they had not repented just when they did
the little elf never could h ave turned them into children again.

sailor they- discovered nothing but a long tangled mass of movie
film. The cloeet door opened quietly at this moment Dolly and
the Witchess looked.out.and discovered that they had been

3 But the flying machine struck a "hole" in the air and began
flapping about in a very distressing manner. Ail oi our xnenas
were thrown from the machine with the exception of Darius and
the Prince of the Bottle It was lucky for all of thehi that there .
was a house beneath them with a tar paper roof.
6 The Witchess led them into the sitting room and told them how
the Movie f an had jumped from the screen and chased them
into the closet "When you fell upon him he turned back into
film!" she said. "Well wfe are all together at last!" said Mr.
Twee Deedle. "And I hope now that you are all here" said the
Witchess "that you will make yourselves comfortable. You will
find magic ice cream cone makers and cookie bakers here in the
house so help yourselves."
