JOHNSTON CITY 111. jVb. 2.
; A 'total of 128 pesrons had been ar-
.- rested today in the dry raids in Wil-
liamaon county which began last night
and continued thin afternoon. Sev-
; eral hundred men said to be mem-
ber of the Ku Kluz Klan conducted
the county-wide raids which were
led by 8. Glenn Young dry worker
tad paid emptoye of the klan.
The raids were principally on pri-

and Eastern Illinois railroad furnished

raiders. The raids were made on
State warrants issued by Justice of
the Peace C. 8. Carle of Herrin.
The raiders said some shooting waa
necessary when persons attempted to
escape but no one waa snot.

to the raiders four bottles of wine
were found in his home. Charles
Cazaleen public administrator here
and Italian consular representative
also was among those arrested.

GIVEN WAGE HIKE
Associated Press Report
CHICAGO. Feb. 2. Wage in
creases of 2 to 2 1-2 cents au bou
were aranted to telegraph department
employes on three railroads and wage
increases wee denied altogether on
three oilier roans in a decision an-
nounced by1 the United States railroad
labor board today. The employes were
represented by the Order of Railroad
Telegraphers a Agents at small non-
telegraph stations were excluded from
the awards.
The roads where the Increases were
rranted are the Charleston and
Western Carolina 21-2 cents; the
Southern Pacific lines in Texas and
Louisiana and 'the Texas and Pacific
2 cents in both cases.
The roads where increases were
denied were the International Great
Northern the Nashville. Chattanooga
and St. Louis and the Virginian rail
way.
