Months after KNTU-FM
got the green-light to in-
crease power to 100,000
watts, the station was still
plagued by delays fromthe Federal Communica-
tion Commission.
In early February,
KNTU Station Manager
Russell Campbell predict-
ed the station would start
program testing by the
end of February, but thatI
did not happen.
Campbell said the sta-
tion sent the necessary
paper work to the FCC by
the middle of February to
begin the 100,000-watts
program testing.
Then on April 27,
KNTU got the thumbs up
to go ahead and increase
power.
At first, KNTU had to
reduce wattage to 23,000
watts because the height
of the new tower in-
creased KNTU's coverage
area beyond its licensedI
