Wopat to headline dinner
Tom Wopat, pictured, former star of The
Dukes of Hazzard who's now appearing on
Broadway in 42nd Street, will speak at the
Sept. 6 dinner of Disciplies of Trinity, the
group's major annual fund-raiser. Disciples of
Trinity maintains a Consignment Shop used by
clients of the AIDS Resource Center's now-
defunct RetroActive resale shop.
Texas family to receive award
An Austin family headed by Tanya Voss and
Sue Marriott, pictured, will receive the Family
Pride Coalition's Families of Courage award
this week at the group's annual gathering in
Provincetown, Mass. The lesbian couple and
their two children were selected because of
their tireless efforts to defeat measures to
rohibit gay adoptions and foster parents.
Complaint filed against homes
Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund's
south central regional office in Dallas has filed
a federal discrimination complaint against six
Louisiana nursing homes. According to the
complaint, the homes declined to accept Cecil
Little, pictured, as a resident when administra-
tors discovered that the stroke victim was HIV-
positive.
