Refugio. — Miss Esther Veroni-
ca Smith became the bride of
LCpl Kennard Rydolph in wedding
ceremonies at the Friendship Bap-
tist Church in Corpus Christi at
3 p.m,. Sunday, June 10.
CPL Names New
Home Economist
Corpus Christi. — Lou Claire
Rowe, a 1962 graduate of Baylor
University, has been narked as the
new home economist for Central
Power and Light Com any’s Gulf
Coast District, CPL Sale Man-
ager Fred Repper has announced.
Miss Rowe will work closely
with appliance dealers in promot-
ing the use of electric home ap-
pliances, and will demonstrate the
features of electric equipment for
new owners throughout the dis-
trict. She will work with CPL
Customers in Falfurrias, Kings-
ville, Bishop, Alice, Freer, San
Diego, Three Rivers, George West,
Sinton, Mathis, Rockport, Refugio,
Taft, Aransas Pass, Premlont and
Woodsboro. Miss Rowe will also
be available to present demonstra-
tions to school groups and other
organizations.
The new home economist began
working for the utility company
June 4. A native of Wharton, she
was graduated from Wharton High
School and attended Wharton Jun-
ior College one year before trans-
ferring to Baylor.
She majored in home economics
at Baylor and was a member of
the Tri-D home economics club.
Slomchinski Undergoing
Army Basic Training
Refugio. —- Pvt. Frank Bernard
Slomchinski is undergoing three
months basic training in the army.
He is stationed at Ft. Chaffee,
Arkasas from June through Au-
gust.
Slomchinski is a graduate of Re-
fugio High School and Texas Uni-
versity and is the son of Mrs. A.
F. Slomchinski.
Braille is used in 85 languages,
and serves 7 million blind people.
The letters are written by means
of raised dots on small squares,
each square representing one let-
ter-of the alphabet.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Bee Smith of Corpus
Christi, and the groom’s parents
are Mr. and Mis. Simmie Ry-
dolph, Sr. of Refugio.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was attired in a tra-
ditional white gown with French
lace trimming, which featured a
scooped neckline. Her veil was
held in place by a crown.
Maid of honor was Miss Willie
Mae Phillips. The brother of the
groom, Howard Rydolph, was best
man.
The bride’s cousin, Delores Las-
ley of Corpus Christi, played the
traditional wedding music for the
ceremony.
Following the ceremony a recep-
tion was held in the home of the
bride’s parents in Corpus Christi.
After a short wedding trip the
couple will miake their home in
Oceanside, California, near Camp
Pendleton, where the groom, is sta-
tioned with Company D, 1st Batal-
lion, 3rd Marine Division.
The bride is a 1962 graduate of
West Oso High School, and the
groom attended Refugio High
School and Del Mar College.
Patty Huchingson
To Wed June 15
Refugio. — Rev. and Mrs. R. H.
Scott of Driscoll announce the en-
gagement and approaching mar-
riage of their daughter, Patty Lou
Huchingson to Robert Michael
Montgomery, son of Mrs. J. B.
Trybiy of Bishop. The ceremony
will take place June 15 at 7:30
p.m. at the First Baptist Church
of Driscoll.
The bride-elect is a graduate of
Bishop High School and South
Texas Commercial College. Mr.
Montgomery is a graduate of Bis-
hop High and is in the naval re-
serve.
Mrs. J. W. Perkins
Honored on Birthday
Refugio. — Mrs. J. W. Perkins
was honored on her 70th birthday
June 10, with a party given by
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jones.
(Members of the family attended
the party at the Ray Jones home.
Mrs. Jones is the daughter of
Mrs. Perkins.
