Tuesday, March 18, and the other was Thursday, March 20 - to compete in the University

meter run with a time of 2:41.77 and
lumped 4' 10" m the high jump for first
place She was second behind Tupaj in
the 1600 meter run with a time of

The 400 meter relay team of Nicole
Hill. Graham, Celeste Edwards and
Alicia Edwards took third place with a
time of 58.04; and the same team ran
the 800 meter relay in 2:04.63 for
second place
Hill also took fourth in the 100
meter hurdles, clocking in at 18 56.

toss ol 79'4" to set a new school record
She broke her old record of 77'2" set
in 1994 She was also lourth in shot

Wendy Stephens took fifth in the

Gueldner earned gold in the high
jump with a 6'0" jump, and set a new
school record in the 100 meter dash of

own record, set only last week, of

dash with a time of 24 19, and fourth
in long jump with a lunge of 18'4"
T he 4(X) meter relay team covered
the distance in 47.89 for third place

The 1600 meter relay team traveled
the course in 4:02.63 for fourth place
Team members were Roger Campm
Trey Homer. Blair Fitzgerald and
Henkel.
Chris Fox ran the 32(H) meter run in
11:41.06 for third place, and Gabe
Vaughn covered it in 13:06.21 for
sixth place
Shamp ran the 100 meter run in
12 (X) for a fifth place finish, and was
fourth in the 200 meter run with a time
of 24 89.
Zack Gueldner ran the 1(X) meter
run in I I 95 in the preliminaries, and
in the finals his time of 12.65 earned
him sixth place He was fifth in triple
jump with a 33’6" jump, and sixth in
long lump with a jump of 17' 6 3/4"
Henkel ran the 300 meter hurdles in
47.54 for a third place finish, and Matt
Sherwood pole vaulted 9’0’ fora fourth
place finish Fitzgerald was fourth in
the triple jump with a leap of 33’ 10 3/
4", and Tim Templeton took sixth in
high jump with a 5’4" jump
Also in the meet were Dane
Silchenstedt, Chad Littleton and Ryan
Bndges.
The teams have an open date this
weekend, then on Saturday, April 5,
they will hosf the Marlin Relays

Academic Contest.
Eleven students qualified at the Dis-
trict UIL Academic Contest at Ben
Taylor was first, Castor, fourth and
Safford, sixth.
In the journalism division, Gabe
Vaughn was first in news and fourth in
features; Emily Osborne was sixth in
applications, and Lam Matthews was
fifth in number sense. The number
sense team of Matthews. Wellesley
and Lindsey Williams took second
place.
