VĚSTNÍK
From The Editor
The dáte of September 16, 1979 wili
most assuredly live in the memories of
verv many of our SPJST members and
friends, especially the ones in and
connected with SPJST Lodge “Spirit of
Round Rock” No. 187, Round Rock,
Texas for it tvas, indeed, a very
significant day for all of them and those
of us who attended their Grand Opening
and Dedication ceremonies. They háve a
beautiful new home on a very nice piece
of property and our wishes for the best
for them in the future i§ very sincerely
meant and expressed.
We were fortunate that we could get
pictures made and the materiál all
assembled for this issue, because,
afterall, news is news and there is no
need in printing something when it is old
news. The pictures are processed for us
by a very cooperative developer who is
not in the newspaper business, and,
therefore, does his best to speed up our
production and our Supreme Lodge sent
us the materiál in time for us to get it into
this issue of our Věstník.
The day was very nice for the occasion
and, certainly, everyone had a chance
and a very good reason to enjoy the day.
The speeches were attentively listened
to and rather brief which makes for a
better atniosphere; long speeches can
become tiring and make the chairs feel
harder than they really are!
In addition to the speeches, made by
members of our Supreme Lodge were
those made by the Honorable Larry
Tonn, Mayorof Round Rock, interesting
in that he told of the origination of the
name for the city of Round Rock and
District Judge Honorable Bili Lott who
certainly added much to the program
with his remarks. So we say to Lodge No.
187, Round Rock: “Bon Voyage!” and
may your future be rosy! Some facts
about Lodge No. 187 follow: The
dimensions of the building are 120 ft. x
175 ft., which creates 27,000 sq. ft.
under roof and a seating capacity of
1100. The building is situated on ten
acres of land, and future plans call for
the construction of tennis courts and a
swimming pool.
The building is fully air conditioned
and heated, with a dance floor of 8,000
sq. ft. There are modern kitchen
facilities.
The latest membership figures for
Lodge 187 show that there are 370
insurance certificates in the lodge.

1979 at Lodge No. 180, Burleson
