GRAND JOB OF BROTHER
CHERVENKA
m the preceding lssue of the Vestnik
there was quite an extensive coverage
of the publicity which the SPJST , con-
vention received through the press and
over the rádio.
It would be difficult to submit a com-
plete detalled report on all the angles
pertinent to publicity in connection
'with the 17th SPJST convention if it
were not for the willingness and co-
operation of Brother Calvin Chervenka.

ning, as well as the results, that it would
require pages and pages to record the
actual happenings. The work of Brother
Chervenka deserves to be brought to
your attention. He not only acted vol-
untarily as a press agent for the SPJST
convention, but he prepared all the an-
nouncements for rádio over KTEM Sta-
tion. And he furnished the editor of the
Vestnik with the clippings of the Tem-
ple Daily Telegram and the Rogers
Weekly News, and also with the seript
of his KTEM rádio reports.
The publicity of the convention
worked out very good. Of course, we
could háve gotten even direct rádio piek
ups from the convention floor, if we
had had a Committee on Publicity. We
never had such a committee. But WP
are getting big enough to háve what
other fraternal conventions try to get
in the way of publicity. It takés plan-
ning and following up. Secretary Chu-
pick turned in the preconvention arti-
cles to The Temple Daily Telegram.)
Brother Stanley Kacir had furnished
The Temple Telegram with plenty of
information for the starting days of the
convention. But then everybody got too
busy with other matters, and Brother
Chervenka earried on the publicity to
