Majestic Myrtles
say thanks
Dear Editor,
The Majestic Myrtles want to thank you for helping
us get together again. It’s a joy to see all the pictures
and articles in the Yorktown News-View about our
local events and Yorktown people.
Moving to Yorktown in 1984 was the best thing that
ever happened to Ray and I. A tiny ad in the San
Antonio paper that Tommy Bullock ran that Kneifel’s
Comer was for sale brought us here. We had looked at
property in Oregon, Arizona and New Mexico. We’re
so happy we made the right choice and ended up in
such a wonderful community.

Buddy Poppy Day
support appreciated
Dear Editor,
Yorktown VFW Auxiliary and the Yorktown VFW
Post #8135 wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the
communi ties of Yorktown and Weesatche and other
surrounding communities for supporting the Annual
Buddy Poppy Day, which was held Nov. 8. A special
thank you to the Yorktown Post Office, Lowe’s
Supermarket, The Texan, and Dollar General for allow-
ing the VFW Auxiliary to set up tables outside their
businesses.
Thank you to the businesses placing cans for poppy
donations: Styles by Susanne, Hairworks, Kraege’s,
Gerhardt’s Jewelry, Aunt Di’s Kountry Kitchen, and
Leske’s Oil/Conoco. The day would not have been a
success without the assistance of the 24 volunteers
who staffed the stations and walked through the Main
Street of Yorktown and Weesatche.
Donations from the VFW Auxiliary Buddy Poppy
event are used to aid veterans in various ways. Contact
the organization if you have any questions or would
like to join. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday
of each month.
Once again, thanks for supporting the veterans with
your participation in the Annual Buddy Poppy Day.
JoAnn Reitz, Chairman
Weesatche
Correction
The News-View regrets the omission of two Yorktown Junior
High School students, Alexis Longoria and Ryan Zuniga,
