continues toy drive
The Cove House Emer-
gency Homeless Shelter has not
yet met its goal for toy dona-
tions for its annual Christmas in
July toy drive, so the event will
continue through August. Drop
off locations include the YM-
CA, Babies and Things, Robert-
son Avenue Church and East-
side Baptist Church. Cove
House has a goal of collecting a
semi truck full of toys to benefit
150 this Christmas. All of the
donations will be put in the An-
nual Toy Store. Cove House can

■ GeekFest seeking
vendors, sponsors
The fourth annual Geek-
Fest will be held Friday through
Sunday at the Maybom Plane-
tarium and Space Theater on the
campus of Central Texas Col-
lege. Vendors, sponsors and pre-
senters are needed for Geek-
Fest, which celebrates all things
gaming, fantasy, anime, tech-
nology and science fiction.

Almost $7,000 in power tools stolen

The Copperas Cove Po-
lice Department responded to
a call concerning the theft of
miscellaneous power tools
valued at $6,806.93 during a
burglary of a storage shed re-
ported from the 2900 block of
Deer Flat Drive on Thursday
at 3:40 p.m. Nothing was dam-
aged during this incident, said
Sgt. Julie Fehmann of the
CCPD. Fehmann added that
this case is under investigation
by CID.
Also on Thursday, vehicle
paint was damaged in a case of
criminal mischief reported at
8:57 a.m. from the 2200 block
of Miles Street. The total val-
ue assessed in this case was
$300.
Money in the
amount of $260 was re-
ported stolen from a lo-
cation in the 700 block
of Constitution Court
on Thursday at 9:19
a.m.
The theft of a cell
phone worth $400 was re-
ported at 4:30 p.m. on Thurs-
day from the 1200 block of
East Highway 190.
Aurther Spayde Fisher IV
was arrested in the 200 block
of Carothers Street on Thurs-
day at 6:36 p.m. for assault
causing bodily injury involv-
ing family violence.
Matthew John Good was
arrested on Thursday at 8:54
p.m. in the 2300 block of Vet-
erans Avenue for theft over
$1,500 under $20,000
in connection with an
incident that happened
on July 5 at the same
location where two
rings together worth
$2,200 were stolen.
Cove police assisted
the Coryell County
Sheriffs Office in arrest-
ing Good with an assault
warrant and with an affidavit
of surety to surrender princi-
pal for violation of a protec-
tive order.
James Allen was arrested
in the 400 block of West Av-
enue B on Thursday at 11:45
p.m. for driving while intoxi-
cated.
The Copperas Cove Po-
lice Department arrested
Nicholas Allen Butler at 12:37
p.m. on Friday in the 900
block of South Main Street for
fraudulent use or possession
of identifying information in
connection with an incident
that happened on April 5 in the
1100 block of Golf Course
Road. Some of you as certain
Renewrick Deon Hamil-
ton was arrested in the 800
block of North 1st Street for
driving while intoxicated on
Friday at 2:59 a.m. He was al-
so arrested with three war-
rants, including one for speed-
ing greater than 10 percent
above the posted limit, driving
47 miles per hour in a 30 mile
per hour zone; one for failure
to show motor vehicle insur-
ance and the third for failure
to display a driver's license.
A case of criminal mis-
chief was reported on Friday
at 1:09 p.m. from the 500
block of Town Square where
$500 worth of damage was
done to vehicle paint.
Cove police assisted the
Coryell County Sheriffs Of-
fice in arresting Edward De-
wayne Hawkins in the 900
block of South 15th Street at
1:13 p.m. on Friday for assault
with a deadly weapon.
Kevin Jumar Wardlaw
was arrested in the 200 block
of Cove Terrace on Friday at
1:48 p.m. for criminal trespass
in connection with an incident
that happened on July 23 in
the 200 block of Carpenter
Street.
