President Milton Peterson called
the meeting to order on May 5, 2013,
at 2:30 p.m. The youth led the Pledge
of Allegiance and youth club motto.
Moment of silence was held for the
deceased of the lodge and the heroes
who lost their li ves in West.
Sister Georgie Soukup reported 21
members present. Sister Barbara
Hykel read the minutes from the last
meeting. Sister Evelyn Stuchly gave
the FAC report. Sister Peggy Dobecka
gave the treasurer’s report and youth
report. For Join Hands Day, the youth
mowed lawns and helped piek up
things in houses that were affected by
the blast. For the Easter egg decorat-
ing contest, Quinlan Dobecka won
second plače; Rendon Dobecka re-
ceived honorable mention; and
Dakota Holder won first plače. The
youth also presented each mother with
a gift.
Get well cards were sent to Fydia
Dobecka, Eugene Horák, Eddie
Hykel, and Robbie Payne. Sympathy
cards were sent to Joe Dvorsky, Billy
Uptmor, Valeria Helona, Karen Janek,
and Robert Schiemenz.
Progressive dooř prize winner for
$10 were Lauren Scott, and winner of
$4 was David Pavelka. Since both
were absent, next time it will be $10
and $5.
There were no May birthdays.
Brother Johnnie Krizan addressed
the members.
Attendance dooř prize winners
were Lydia Dobecka, Jerry Kučera,
and Selby Holder.

Lodge 25, Ennis
celebrates
Cinco de Mayo
Dear Readers,
Lodge 25, Ennis celebrated Cinco
de Mayo on Thursday, May 9, 2013,
with a Mexičan food dinner prepared
by Betty Macalik. The meal was deli-
cious! Thank you, Betty!
Then, we held our regular monthly
meeting beginning with the Pledge of
Allegiance by Margaret. A moment of
silence was held for all deceased mem-
bers . Known on the sick list is Joe Ben
Macalik.
All the officers’ reports were ac-
cepted as given. The youth club and
adult lodge both sent a donation to the
West, Texas Relief Road to Recovery
fund.
A big “welcome home” was ex-
tended to Blake Ryan who served three
years in the military. Blake was based
out of Bamberg, Germany, and was de-
ployed to Afghánistán twice. Thank
you, Blake, for your Service to our
country. We are so proud of you!
SPJST Scholarship winners were
announced. They are Julie Reagan
Langer, Zachary Matouš, Amanda
Šrámek, and John Marusak.
Birthday wishes went out to Blake,
Stacy, Linda, and Emil.

Our next meeting will be held on
Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m. The sociál
will begin at 6:30 p.m. See y’all then!

annual picnic
this Sunday
SPJST Lodge 47, Seaton’s annual
picnic is this Sunday, June 2, 2013.
Fried chicken and homemade sausage
along with all the trimmings will be
served from 11 a.m. until sold out. You
can enjoy your meal in the comfort of
the halí or outdoors. Once again,
plates-to-go will be available with the
convenience of not having to get out
of your vehicle. Last year was such a
success with the drive-thru—we will
háve it again. If you také advantage of
the drive-thru, we hope you will come
back and enjoy an aftemoon of a good
time in East Bell County.
We are looking forward to a day of
good food, fun, and fellowship. High-
lights of the day will be “The Polka
Jam” with live music outside provided
by a host of friends, a bake sále with
kolaches, cakes, pies, home-grown
vegetables, good home-canned food,
and crafts. All activities will begin at
1 p.m. with the country spinning
wheel and bake sále being held inside.
Make plans to sign up for the horse-
shoe toumament by 12 noon that day.
Activities will end at 3:30 p.m. for
everyone to be able to enjoy the Dis-
trict Two Youth Beseda Dancers and
the live auction.
The District Two Youth Beseda
Groups will perform at 3:45 p.m. We
are proud to háve these dancers, which
consist of youth ages six to 18 per-
forming for your entertainment
There will be a prize drawing held
with some really nice prizes: 1 st prize
- 40-inch Samsung LED HDTV; 2nd
prize - Nikon Digital Camera; 3rd
prize - Samsung laptop Computer; 4th
prize - $150 Academy gift card; and
5th prize - $75 HEB gift card. Who
knows? It may be your tum to be the
lucky winner of one of these really
nice prizes.
There will be a live auction held at
4 p.m. Iťs always a treat to see what
items are to be auctioned off. This
year, we are in hopes to háve some an-

West Benevolence Fundraiser
at SPJST Lodge 47, Seaton Star Halí
Organizers met last week to pian an event to raise funds for West
Benevolence Fund. Slovacek’s has partnered with SPJST to host the
event on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at SPJST Lodge 47, Seaton Star Halí.
Tickets will soon be available for $50 per person and includes hors
ďoeuvres, dinner, beverages, and dancing with music by Ennis Czech
Boys and Fritz Hodde and the Fabulous Six. The evening will also fea-
ture a prize drawing and a silent auction. Watch for more details on
how to purchase tickets or to donate items to the silent auction. Pic-
