Treasurer Fred Jemela assumed her
new duties as treasurer and reported the
current checking account balance.
The Stolarskis reported on the suc-
cess of Join Hands Day, and that this
year, five fratemal organizations par-
ticipated covering seven cemeteries.
Fratemals included Hermann Sons
Lodge 239-2, Woodmen of the World
Lodge 105, Knights of Columbus
Council 3313, KJT Society 80, and
SPJST Lodge 141,Sealy.
Jo Bear then pleaded with Donnie to
help us increase membership atten-
dance in order to keep the lodge going.
He promised to check with Brian Van-
iček about sponsoring something in the
fall of the year to boost attendance and
also to get new members into our
lodge.
Motion to adjoum the meeting was
made by Howard Bear, seconded by
Freda Jemela.
Next Meeting—June 11
The next scheduled meeting is Tues-
day, June 11 at 6 p.m. at Gordon Me-
moriál Library.

meets June 10
SPJST Lodge 151, Wharton will
hold its next quarterly meeting on
Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Whar-
ton Depot Museum, located at 100
Sunset Street in Wharton, Texas.
A light meal will be served at 6:30
p.m. Please call Carolyn Bucek (979)
532-1910 before Thursday, June 6 if
you pian to attend so she can make
arrangements for the food.
The meeting will be held after the
meal. We need to develop a mission
statement for our lodge so be thinking
about what our lodge does and for
whom.
Members with birthdays in April,
May, and June will be honored.

Lodge 155, Austin, will háve its
summer sociál and quarterly meeting at
La Casita Mexičan Restaurant, located
at 1519 West Anderson Lané in Austin
(close to Lamar and across the Street
from Redeemer Lutheran Church) on
Sunday, June 9 at 1 p.m. The mem-
bers’ meal is covered by our lodge:
drinks are separate. Leťs all enjoy hot

Baytown sets
June 20 meeting
We met May 16, 2013, at Golden
Corral Restaurant with 10 lodge mem-
bers and three guests present. This was
a speciál meeting called by Supreme
Lodge President Brian Vaniček. State
Fratemal Activities Coordinator Frank
Horák and Districts Five/Six Fratemal
Field Manager Delisle Doherty were
also present at the meeting.
Next Meeting—June 20
We will háve another meeting on
June 20 at Golden Corral to discuss
important issues of our lodge. We
hope to háve more members present.
Please come and give us your opinion
on certain issues.

As part of our continued and valued
Service to our members, SPJST has im-
plemented a program to ensure that
your certificate information, such as
named beneficiary and insurance cov-
erage, is correct and up-to-date. By re-
viewing and knowing that your
information is current, you can be as-
sured that you are receiving the full
value of your membership, and you
háve peace of mind that your loved
ones will receive the care they deserve.
SPJST Lodge 177, Academy mem-
bers will begin receiving certificate an-
nual reviews, according to Supreme
Lodge Vice President Gene McBride.
“Linda Johnson and other SPJST sales
agents, including Marketing Manager
Don Strickland from the Home Office,
will be calling on lodge members as a
part of our continued and valued Serv-
ice,” Brother McBride says. “We will
be visiting with each member regard-
ing their insurance certificate, and it
will také only a few minutes to com-
plete.”
“Lodge 177 members, please také
advantage of this Service and opportu-
nity,” Marketing Manager Don Strick-
land adds. “SPJST has the most
competitive insurance products, annu-
ities, and IR As to meet each family’s
needs along with being a fratemal so-
ciety that recognizes its proud heritage
and believes strongly in its youth by
teaching patriotism, good citizenship,
teamwork and leadership . . . and, if

Lodge 202
Jourdanton
meets June 2
Lodge 202, Jourdanton will hold its
meeting and catered meal on Sunday,
June 2, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Jourdanton
Community Center. Members are
asked to bring desserts. Fifty-year and
75-year members will be honored,
youth club officers will be installed,
and lodge scholarships will be
awarded.

Friendship Club
The Friendship Club met on
Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at the St.
Thomas Parish Dining Room for our
monthly meeting. President Betty
Krenek called the meeting to order and
welcomed all. Guests were Thula
Kekos, mother-in-law to Thelma
Smith; Nadine, Rose Ann Spamťs
neighbor; and Agnes Saldana, friend of
Elizabeth Creamer. Ladies, we en-
joyed having you. Come again. The
Pledge of Allegiance was said by all,
and Vice President Alene Kercho read
a poem and asked that we all observe a
moment of silence for those in West.
Libbie Vrla reported that Willie Mae
Becan had two sisters living in the
nursinghome that was destroyed. One
sister had some cuts on her face and
neck while the other sister was not
harmed. They are both now living in a
nursing home in Hillsboro, Texas.
This explosion was such a tragédy.
Secretary Elizabeth Creamer read
the minutes from the last meeting, and
Treasurer Jo Ann Wilcox gave the fi-
nancial report. Both were accepted as
presented.
Sunshine Person Paula Halí reported
on sending a thinking of you card to
Sharron Connelly. Sharron acciden-
tally ran over her dog and the poor lit-
tle thing had to háve surgery. She
believes he is going to be all right. It
was nice to háve Lucille Krét back after
a few month’s absence, and she re-
ported Linda is still not doing well.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her.
Libbie reported Camille Bolcer wasn’t
able to attend the meeting this month,
Gerry Kortokrax has moved to Hous-
ton, and Elsie Anders is either still in
the hospital or in a rehab facility. Get
well wishes go out to her. We miss
you, Elsie.
The July dining out sociál was dis-
cussed, and everyone was asked to
think of a plače we could go out to eat.
Golden Corral and Furr’s were men-
tioned, and someone will check on
costs.
President Betty stated $75 cash was
received for the St. Thomas Food
Pantry plus a lot of food items. Every-
one was thanked for their contribu-
tions. Betty also acknowledged photos
in the Vestnik of Anna Johnson and
Lydia Alholm as being honored by
friends from SPJST and Sokol for their
longtime membership and many con-
tributions made by them to these or-
ganizations.
