The summer time is a great time to
accumulate volunteer hours. Volun-
teering increases your competitiveness
when applying for college scholar-
ships, intern programs, and jobs.
Please také the time to invest in your
future by volunteering and logging
your volunteer hours. The programs
listed in this newsletter are great vol-
unteer opportunities as well as career
builders. Volunteer hours can be accu-
mulated through your church, school,
other youth programs, and of course,
through SPJST.
Whatever you decide to do this
summer, I would like to wish all of
you a great summer full of fun! I hope
to see everyone at your District Youth
Achievement Day and SPJST Sum-
mer Camp.
End Of Summer Getaway!
Don’t forget that good times await
you at the Corpus Christi End of Sum-
mer Getaway. Start making your
plans now to join us on August 9 to 11
for a fun-filled weekend. We will be
staying at the Emerald Beach Holiday
Inn again this year, which is located
right on the beach. There will be a lot
of activities for the whole family.

Dear Věstník Readers,
We held our last monthly meeting
on May 5, 2013. Kandace Stone
presided, and she called the meeting to
order at 1 p.m.
Dannikka Bartek led us in the
Pledge of Allegiance, youth club
motto, and a moment of silence.
We had 29 youth members, two
guests, and 18 adults in attendance.
The minutes were read and ap-
proved. There was no correspondence.
The treasurer gave her report.
Old Business
We discussed Join Hands Day
which was on Saturday, May 4. We
cleaned the annex building at the
lodge halí. I would like to thank every-

fantastic job and doing whatever we
asked you to do. Also, another thank
you to Ace Chlápek with RVOS
Lodge No. 5 who provided us with
sausage wraps and drinks.
Thanks to everybody who helped
with the beseda fundraiser which was
held on Sunday, April 28 at Seaton

everyone who brought desserts, silent
auction items, made potato salad and
slaw, helped set up and clean - great
job!
