VĚSTNÍK
Congratulations, and I know you
will all do a great job. It was so hard to
watch the outgoing seniors leave the
table. Good luck to Jerry Pechal (my
nephew), Chris Zavodny, and Kan-
dace Stone - you will be missed. We
will honor these graduates on Monday,
June 3 at the mother lodge meeting
which starts at 6:30 p.m. Members are
asked to bring ice cream and desserts.
Patsy asked for volunteers to bring
potatoes, boiled and cut up, for us to
make potato salad on Saturday, June 1
for the picnic on Sunday, June 2. Be
there at 8 a.m.
Please make plans to attend the pic-
nic. We will háve a wonderful lunch, a
polka jam, sweet booth, li ve auction,
and District Two Beseda Dancers will
perform. Youth members, please bring
desserts, auction items, and canned
goods. We will háve our meeting at 1
p.m., and we will háve installation of
officers. We will háve handouts of up-
coming events, Father’s Day gifts, and
do our Věstník projects. There will
also be a sign-up sheet for scrapbook-
ing. At the picnic, we will be doing the
to-go plates and háve clean-up duties.
We will send emails of the times you
will be working. Please let us know if
you háve any questions. Reminders
for camp tee-shirt orders, Flag Day
Essay Contest (eight years old and
under - coloring contest), and 100
Pennies Scholarship Fund Drive. If
you give at least $2, you get points. All
of these items are due by May 31.
Other Upcoming Events
June 14 to 16 - LIT (Leader-in-
Training) Camp is at Cooper Farm.
June 21 - District Two Swim party
begins at 7 p.m. at Walker Pool in
Temple. All YAD forms will be due
this night with recipe cards and in-
structions for hobby kits.
July 13 - District Two YAD will be
held at Lodge 47. Please ask us ques-
tions at the meetings if you are new to
the youth club. We will answer all
your questions. More details to follow.
July 25 to 28 - Districts Two and
Four will be camping at Cooper Farm.
The theme for this year is “western.”
Campers and chaperones, please fill
out camp forms online.
August 3 - State YAD will be at
Frank Maybom Convention Center in
Temple.
August 9 to 12 - Corpus Christi get-
away. Be thinking of ideas for the sand
sculpture contest on the beach at 8
a.m. If you help, the youth club will
pay for one of the nights we are there.
The party theme on Saturday night
will be “Groovy 70s.”
September 14 - District Two Six
Flags trip.
Birthdays for May are Kyndall Car-
roll and Payton Porubsky.
After the meeting, some of the
youth members handed out flowers to
the ladies for Mother’s Day. The
mothers really enjoyed getting the
flowers we made. Good job, youth
members!
Get well wishes go out to David
Pechal who had knee surgery on May
14.
