Dear Members and Friends:
Lodge No. 35, Elk, held its monthly
meeting on a Friday night, June 6 at 7:30
p.m. President Henry Breitkreutz called
the meeting to order. Flag Bearer Ronald
Stienke led the pledge of allegiance. The
president then welcomed our visitors.
Minutes of the May meeting were read
by Sister Charlotte Banik, who filled in
for Bro. Albert because he had to work.
Sister Charlotte read cards received from
the Martha McCluskyTamily, Henry and
Inez Breitkruetz and families. Sister
Mildred Steinke thanked everyone for
the cards she received during her stay in
the hospital.
Henry Breitkruetz, Jr. gave the
treasureťs report.
Sister Rosemarie Banik gave the youth
club report. She talked about District III
YAD and the applications the kids
needed to fill out if they planned to go to
camp. The people who had birthdays in
June were Sisters Rosie Wood, Peggy
Dieterich and Bro. Johnny Stuchly.
The committee chairmen all gave their
reports; Sister Ruby Pavelka for kitchen,
Bro. Johnny Stuchly reported for Bro.
Charlie Pavelka for the refreshments and
Sister Charlotte Banik reported, for Bro.
Albert Banik, for the entertainment.
Buiiding chairman, Bro. Rudolf Vicha
reported that he had checked on getting
some ceiling fans and that the tile that
was placed in the bathrooms and behind
the bar needed to be checked for
acceptance.
Sister Rosie Wood read the minutes
from the last Trustees’ meeting.
Members who were named as having
insurance policies that are paid up were:
Karen Lee Tidmore, John Robert Vicha
and Charles W. Pavelka.
Under old business the matter of going
to canned drinks was brought back on
the floor for more discussion.
Finding a plače to store all of the old
books and records of the lodge was also
discussed.
Under new business the fact that some
of the ceiling over some of the seating
area needed to be repaired was
discussed. It was voted to provide a bus
to také the youth and parents to Burleson
for District YAD.
Bro. Rudolph Zalman spoke; then he
handed out the prémium refund checks.
The dooř prizes were won by Inez
Breitkruetz for the adult, and Missy
Steinke for the youth prize.
Sister Ruby Pavelka reported that Bro.
Richard Burney had been in the hospital
for surgery and that Sister Edna Mach
also had been in the hospital but was at
home now.
That concludes my report covering the
June meeting. By the time you read this it
will be time for the July meeting, which
will be Sunday, July 13 at the regular
time; hope to see you then.
Before I close I would like to
congratulate Eddie Banik and Jason

LODGE NO. 74, LOVELADY
Dear Members and Guests:
We had another enjoyable dance with
music furnished by the Crockett
Westerners. It was nice to see so many
attending our dance from long distance
places. We again had Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Bevin and Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs,
SPJST members, from Lufkin; these
people are professional dancers. Richard
Bevin is a dancing instructor. Those of
you who did not attend, really missed out
on a great art of dancing performance. It
was like watching the Lawrence Welk
Show; also, a very nice couple of
members, Mr. and Mrs. Glen
Hugghinson with several guests from
Rusk, Texas came to enjoy themselves.
In addition a part of square dancing
group consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Stuteville and Mr. and Mrs. Schutz from
Etkhart, Texas, plus many other
members and guests who came from
far-away places to enjoy themselves.
We háve a Fine group of hard-working
officers and members who are putting in
a lot of free time and the job rebuilding
the floor so all of us can enjoy dancing.
We now háve the floor sealed off and can
arrange it to be slick for the desire of the
dancing fans.
We háve a new youth leader, Linda
Michka. We hope all the best for her.
Linda is a school teacher and is loved by
everyone; all I’ve ever heard mentioned
about her is that she is a wonderful
person.
We are looking forward to a
harmonious group working together for
the good of the lodge which is just going
that way at the present time. Leťs keep it
up! The ones who don’t attend our lodge
activities because they feel the things do
not go their way, are not working for the
good of the lodge; you don’t šee me quit
because things do not go my way;
certainly, all of us háve different ideas
