DELTA DELTA DELTA
Hello everyone!
The Tri Deltas have had a busy
week. We helped the Gingham Goose
with its annual Halloween carnival. We
worked with some of the parents to run
some of the booths and the haunted
house. It went well and we had a great
time.
Monday night we had a surprise
candlepass. Susan Williams was the
suprisee; she was promised to Dusty
Fillmore.
We are also happy to announce that
Kelly Henderson, one of our pledges,
is the new Alpha Chi president. We are
very proud of her.
We hope everyone has a great week!
DELTA ZETA
The women of Delta Zeta say, Read
this article! You’ll laugh for days!
Last week was the great yick-yick-
yow (thanks Carolyn) Delta Zeta Big
Bro Appreciation Week. For those
elite members of that group, we ap-
preciate you! The hooker/pimp party
where all the secret sisters revealed
themselves to their respective big bros
was violently successful. Special con-
grats are due to Monroe and Chris,
who received apparently well-deserved,
heavily perfumed, leopard-spotted
panties with an anonymous “thanks
for last night” note attached. Thanks
to Treg and Randy for the pad and the
tunes.
Holli’s fascination with livestock in
terests everyone. Doesn’t it?
Kristi’s cousin Chip visited campus
this weekend; we’d like to maybe get to
know him better. He had a great tan.

weekend the hors d’oeuvres were con-
sumed rapidly. Some of us could be
seen working hard on some army
lieutenant of our own. TH$ 5 p’s ride
again. Let’s do pizza sometime.
We’re all excited about Rush Retreat
this weekend out'at the lake. We’re go-
ing to have a wild party, water skiing
and lounging in the hot tub.
Have a great weekend. We sure will.
Yippee.
ZETA TAU ALPHA
It’s been a fun week for the ZTA’s.
Saturday’s Back to the Future party
was fantastic. Thanks for a wonderful
job, Laura. Beverly says thanks to
everyone who told her they were glad
to see her
Tuesday night was a party night with
the southern gentlemen of Kappa
Alpha. Thanks guys. It was great.
Congratulations to Ashley Turner
on becoming a new Kappa Sig star-
duster. Congratulations also to Donna
Syvertson, Benet Younger, and Sue
Sommermeyer on becoming new KA
little sisters.
Have a sa/e and enjoyable weekend.
KAPPA SIGMA
Hi everyone, how’s it going? The
brothers of Kappa Sigma would iike to
thank our little sisters for a fantastic
job on their Road Rally.
“If it weren’t for you girls this place
would be a little boring!” Speaking of
girls doing wonderful things, the
brothers would also like to thank the
ADPis for a great time at their Play
Day.
In addition, our Bruise & Blues par-
ty will be held Saturday, November 23.
Put on your favorite 501 *s and come
have a blast with the sounds of The
Toby Anderson band. Once again the
brothers would like to remind the other
houses that this is a closed party and
we would appreciate their cooperation.
Have a good weekend.
PHI DELTA THETA
The men of Phi Delta Theta want to
know what your hidden desire is? This
Friday, Nov. 8, the Phi’s will be having
their Hidden Desires party. We hope
everyone will study all week and be
ready to party this weekend.
We would like to remind everyone to
come out and watch the S.U. play of
Romeo and Juliet which will be
premiering November 15-17. Con-
gratulations goes to Jimmy Kipple for
playing Montague in the play. Kipple
said he is ready to give acting tips to
T.V. star Martin Milner, who will also
be appearing in the play.
Congratulations goes to the Phi
White and Phi Blue intramural foot-
ball teams for both making it to the
semi-finals. Although Phi Blue lost in
the semi’s, the Phi White team played
in the finals.
TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!iI You bet-
ter start preparing yourself for those
words for the next month, because
December 7th, the Phi’s will be having
their long awaited Toga Party. This
has been a party to remember in the
past years. We hope this one will be the
best one ever. Don’t forget to circle
that date on your calendar. TOGA!
TOGA! TOGA!!!
KAPPA ALPHA
The fine southern gentlemen of Kap-
pa Alpha Order would like to thank all
those who attended T and L last Fri-
day. As usual the party got really zany
and crazy. We hope the members of
the other fraternities enjoyed
themselves. We are certain such
hospitality will be reciprocated by
them in the future.
We would like to introduce our new
Little Sisters: Cynthia Burton, Benet
Younger, Katie Parvin, Sue Som-
mermeyer, Betty Brashear, Donna
Syvertson, Liz Hoke, and Honorary
Little Sister Karen Gaida. Congratula-
tions to all of them We are proud to
have ya’ll.
We’ve hosted two fabulous mixers
with the Tri-Delts and Zeta’s over the
last week. Both nights proved very
entertaining. We highly anticipate their
mixers next semester.
A minor miracle occurred Tuesday
night when the KA-2 football team
trounced the Phi-1 team for the cham-
pionship for the first time in 40 years.
Of course, this undoubtedly represents
the wave of the future for us in all in-
tramurals. Team members included
George Gaisen, Rob Smith, Peter
Myer, Aloysius Evans, Kenny Simon,
Pete Hirsch, “Hands” Maier,
“Nanook” Caiioii, The Auschwitz
Kid Schwartzenbach, and Spunky Hill.

Dear Queen Polly
Queen Polly,
I’m not a special person. I am not
beautiful nor am I extremely bright. I
have no revealed or hidden talents. My
small circle of friends consists of peo-
ple much like myself. I have tried in my
own clumsy way to make friends with
many other students. At times people
have come to me with problems, or
when ill to ask for my assistance. But
the next day they are off with their
friends laughing at my clumsiness and
inadequacies. I know this because I
have overheard such conversations.
When 4^ came to Southwestern I was
Dear Queen Polly,
I’m at the end of my rope. I haven’t
told anybody, even my parents,
because I’m too embarrassed. 1 was
near the top of my class in high school.
Ncftv I’m struggling just to get by.
Sometimes I think the professors here
are sadistic. Their tests arc unfair and
the amount of reading required is
ridiculous. They all seem to think that
their class is the only one I have, or at
least the only one worth studying for. I
barely have time for a social life. Sug-
gestions?
myriad of resources on campus (i.e.,
Learing Assistance Program), and if all
else fails, you might try studying.
By the way, you may as well tell your
parents. Every parent in the world
already knows how stupid their kids
are.

hoped for acceptance but that has
escaped me. Soon I will be teaching,
and I will teach with love and kindness
making each child feel special and ac-
cepted.
I’m not special, all I have to offer
others is myself, my time. I wish others
would have afforded me the oppor-
tunity to know them, and them to
know me. You seee, when others
choose not to look beyond my face,
they choose not having a good friend.

Dear Annoyed,
No wonder you’re having problems.
Youn can’t even spell. It’s spelled P-A-
R-A-N-N-O-Y-E-D.
Seriously though, you’re somewhat
correct. I did speak with the faculty
before the year began and they all
agreed to be different this year and
make it impossible for. stwdeittis: to
pass. They claimed too maify ^t\i$erfls
were graduating. You see, they hate
college students and delight in making
life miserable for them.
Now for a suggestion—be a pioneer
and do something that’s never been
done before. Talk to your professors,
ask questions, get help from one of the
Etheridge, Monroe Walker, Elizabeth
Salerno, Laura Riggs, Deborah Kay
Mittanck, Sharon Shumway, Jennie
Jones, Holly Sylvester, and Kelley
Renee Yamka. The initiation, led by
our Sponsor Dr. Spellman, went very
well.
After initiation" we had great
refreshments provided by our officers.
After a little socializing, we held a
business meeting which included elec-
tion of new officers! They are:
President - Kelly Henderson
Vice President - Frank Pelosi
Secretary - Sylvia Sydow
Treasurer - Jennie Jones
Next semester holds many exciting
plans. One of these is the reception for
students who make the Dean’s List. So
everyone study hard and make those
grades!
