THE HUMBLE ECHO
June 25, 1943
Koehler-Lomax
A marriage of great interest1
to many local friends was that i
of Lt. Carter Lomax of Humble J
and Miss Lenora Koehler oil
I)a isetta, Texas.
The ceremony was performed
at the home of the bnde‘s par-
ents on Wednesday evening at
nine o’clock The bride's only
attendant was Miss Arlene
Crippen of Taylor, Texas. Patj
Lomax of Humble attended his >
brother as best man. The
marriage vows were spoken at
twilight before a beautifully
improvised altar, which was
dec-orated with white candles,
ferns and pink gladiolas. The
bride was given in marriage by
her father. The double ring
ceremony was read by Rev. Roy
Stevens of Houston, a cousin of
the bride.
After the ceremony an inform-
al reception was held at the
bride’s home. Punch and cake
were served to the guests from
an all white table. The center
piece of white gladiolas and
white candles harmonized beau-
tifully with the three-tier wed-
ding cake which was topped by
a minature soldier and bride.
Mrs. Buford Koehler of Kan-
sas City presided at the punch
bowl.
The bride wore a beautifully
tailored blue suit with white ac-
cessories. Her corsage was of
white gardenias. Her attend"
ant wore blue also.
The couple left immediately
for Blythe, California where
Lt. Lomax is stationed.
Humble guests who attended
the wedding were Mrs. Dan
Rhodes, Barbara Ann Rhodes,
Mrs. Calvin Petty and Mary
Joe Petty.
Mrs. Johnny A. Baldridge,
Dayna Clair and Billie Corgey.
